Rabbi Jonathan Herzog coordinated civic leaders Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Councilman Mike Zine, City Controller and mayoral candidate Wendy Gruel, and Israel Consul General David Siegel to master the reluctant oil lamps and kindle the menorah on the second night of Chanukah, 2012 with Rabbi Morty Einbinder of Chabad of the Valley.  Universal Studios Hollywood President, Larry Kurzweil led the lighting, welcomed the celebrants, and offered encouragement and support for America's ally, the Holy Land of Israel.
