LAX "Independence Day from Jihad on Jews" Memorial spotlights need to overcome political-correctness on Islamic anti-Semitism

July 4th, 2018, Vicky Hen monument at LAX is decorated for
16th Memorial Ceremony. Rabbi Moshe Parry leads Kaddish with
father, Avi and brother Udi Hen for 30 attendees, behind-camera
You might assume that after 15-years of hosting a July 4th public memorial ceremony at L.A.X, the Israeli-American family of Islamist-slain, El Al customer-service agent Vicky Hen would feel proud of how their family's sacrifice has helped awaken Jewish (and Christian) citizens to the threat Islamism poses to Jewish and Israel-supportive individuals.

With the absence of presence (or publicity support by) the Israeli Consulate,  fewer people attend, and the press no longer report on the phenomenon of Islamist bigotry against Jews- a contributing factor to the Muslim intolerance of a Jewish State in the Mid-East. The Hen family takes no solace in witnessing Jewish-Americans less-informed, placing more importance on avoiding recognizing Islam's threat to Jews, instead of standing-up in our own defense - under the banner of the sacrificed Vicky Hen and Yakov Aminov as proof of the need to for authorities to recognize this and protect Jews in the diaspora.

During Independence Day week, just thirty minutes from the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, a Shia-Iranian-affiliated Muslim Congress hosted speakers who stoke and justify anti-Semitism among their Muslim-American attendees.

The LAX Independence Day jihad attack was executed by Hesham Mohamed Hadayet, an Egyptian Muslim immigrant to the Los Angeles metropolis. Egyptian authorities had

accused and arrested him of being a member of the Islamic Group, Gama'a al-Islamiyya (IG), which is on the U.S. Department of State's Foreign Terrorist Organizations list.
He applied for asylum in 1992. Hadayet's asylum request was denied by the INS and he was placed in removal proceedings. However, after Hadayet "did not receive the notice of his immigration hearing date due to an incorrect mailing address, the EOIR terminated the proceeding."

Over the past years, several former Muslims have appeared at the Memorial for the victims to confirm Islamism's (cloaked in pro-Palestinianism) threat to Jews and Christian Zionists. Klaus Benamy Hackel, El Al's German-born station-chief at L.A.X. on July 4, 2002, moved to L.A. to escape the terror-risk after a number of years working at Israel's Ben Gurion airport.

Before Egyptian-immigrant limo-driver, Hesham Hadayet (who aligned with al-Qaeda) could be subdued by El Al security, he had shot 6 people, killing Israeli-Americans Vicky Hen, 24,  and Yakov Aminov, 46.

In addition to the death of Yakov Aminov, 46, and Vicky Hen, 25 who were killed, at least 4 more were wounded: Haim Sapir, the El Al security guard whose bullets ultimately stopped the attacker; Sarah Philips, a then 61-year old traveler from Canada; Arie Golan, then 54, who suffered superficial stab wounds; and an anonymous El Al security guard. Noteworthy of mention is Dr. David Parkus, a trauma surgeon from Beaumont, Texas who jumped in to wrestle the shooter.

Vicky's surviving parents, Avi and Rachel, organize an annual ceremony at the time she was killed at L.A.X.

In this video, El Al's L.A.X. manager at that time, Klaus Hackel, recounts how suppressed memories of the massacre's trauma, but recalls Vicky fondly, praising her professionalism, kindness, and vitality.

L.A.'s Rabbi Nachum Shifren mourned both Vicky's passing and chides what he sees as the weakness of the Jewish establishment to promote awareness of (and protections against) Islam's enmity and violence  towards Jews.

PLO-leader Yasser Arafat had acknowledged that Palestinian-ism is merely a step towards the pan-Muslim re-conquest of Jewish autonomy in Israel.

Rabbi Nachum Shifren says that the Palestinian issue is a distraction enabling mollifying the metastasis of imperialist, supremacist Islam throughout the West. IslamoMarxist hatred for "Zionists" is merely a subset of the jihad to conquer the secular and non-Muslim world.

The Hen Family hold this ceremony annually on July 4th at 11 am at L.A.X.- outside the Terminal 7 parking lot exit, underneath the Arches restaurant

Tolerating Jihad against Israel results in terror everywhere

Amir Taheri in Asharq al-Awsat July 8, 2016
"When the first wave of terrorism linked to the Middle East started in the 1970s, the assumption in the West was that the disturbing phenomenon reflected Arab anger over the Israel-Palestine issue. . . Peace between Israel on the one hand, and Egypt and Jordan on the other didn’t tone down terror attacks. Nor did the Oslo accords between Yasser Arafat and the Israelis achieve a reduction in terrorist violence."
In Ceremony for victims of Independence Day jihad attack at L.A.X. explores motive, negligence, and cover-up (2014) JewTube.Info laid out the details of the July 4th jihad on L.A:
On Independence Day, the survivors of Vicky Hen held the 12th Independence Day Memorial for victims of the 1st jihadist attack in California- upon the El Al ticket counter of Los Angeles Airport's international terminal - on the 4th of July 2002- 9-months after Sept. 11, 2001. The ceremony by Vicky's survivors, father Avi, mother Rachel, and brother Udi, were comforted by around 3-dozen attendees and speakers.
The 2016 event was smaller- fewer visitors attended, no one from the Israeli Consulate came (or even sent a press-release as they traditionally did). No El Al employees attended- only retired, El Al station-chief Klaus Ben-amy Hackel (accompanied by his partner, Dror, and their daughters) drove down from Bakersfield.

Rabbi Moshe Parry spoke about the authorities' downplaying the Muslim-terror risk to minorities, then and now, and avoiding addressing the special protection Jews and Israelis require.

Obama impedes Jewish self-defense against Jihad- Rabbi Zvi Block at LAX terror memorial

Rabbi Zvi Block at the Los Angeles Airport, El Al jihad victims' memorial
Speaking at the "Independence Day from Jihad" memorial for victims of the West Coast jihad attack at Los Angeles Airport, Rabbi Zvi Block says America's commitment to the war against jihadism requires the government to protect the jihads primary targets: Jews & Israelis- both in America and Israel.  He believes that an American administration should reciprocate Jewish support for America by assisting the self-defense of the Judeo-Christian sanctuary in the Middle East, ally Israel, in her defense against jihadism. This involves both political support, at the UN and not forcing premature ceasefires, and selling replacement arms and ammunition, which the Obama administration now impedes.

Rabbi Block takes exception to the Obama White House's embrace of Islamists, e.g., Iran, Qatar, & Turkey for supporting jihadist Hamas & Hezbollah. Also Saudi Arabia for supporting Al Qaeda.

For the first time, a Consul General of the Israeli Consulate to the Southwestern U.S. attended.

Video: Israeli Consul General David Siegel connected the jihad of Egyptian Hesham Hadayet seeking paradise by killing Vicky Hen and passenger's friend Jacob Aminov of North Hollywood - with the jihad warfare being conducted by Palestinians through rocketing, kidnapping, and killing Israeli civilians.  He acknowledged the supportive presence of Leehy Sha'er, whos nephew, Gil-Ad Sha'er was among the trio of yeshiva students abducted, shot, and burned by Palestinian followers of Hamas.

Klaus Ben-Ami Hackel- El Al's L.A.X. station chief during the era of the attack recounted, and Avi Hen, the father of Vicky Hen, recounted the events of the day to JooTube:
Klaus Ben-Ami Hackel eulogizes his charge, Vicky Hen, as a great help to her staff and the El Al operation:

Elan Carr, an L.A. Deputy City Attorney prosecutor and candidate for US Congress, calls to recognize global Islamism as democracy's enemy.  Hebrew and Arabic-speaking Elan Carr served in the US Army as a military lawyer in Iraq and serves on reserve duty annually. He prays for strength and determination in our government policies to defeat the Islamist enemy of liberty.

Rabbi Zvi Block of Toras Hashem in L.A. lays out the condition of the modern world's relationship with the Jewish people- primary contributors to Western civilization and culture.

Pastor Ramin Parsa, of the Good Shepherd Church in Encino, Calif. was born and raised a Shi'ite Muslim in Iran. He quoted for the audience Quranic passages used to command Muslims to enmity and violence against Jews and Christians- which have motivated Islamic anti-Semitism for 1,400 years - centuries before the re-establishment of Jewish sovereignty in Israel.

In May, 2008 - KNBC-TV News' Paul Moyer recounted the events of the shooting and the confession of a whistleblower policeman, Bob Lopez, that despite the FBI recommending special protection for the El Al counter (and his reporting having spotted "suspicious people" casing the El Al counter, not only were no provisions made, there was no police protection in the area that  morning- enabling the jihadist easy accesa to shoot. Vicky and Aminov died waiting 7 minutes for airport police to arrive, and over 20 minutes for an ambulance.

Family patriarch, Avi Hen, (who, speaking in Hebrew, complains that the Airport security authorities and FBI left the terminal unprotected from Hesham Hadayat, a known Islamist acolyte of Omar Abdel-Rahman, the spiritual leader of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing);

Rabbi Zvi Block: For Judaism's contributions to civilization, the west has a responsibility to respect and protect the Jewish people

At the 12th Annual Memorial for the victims of the 4th of July jihadist attack at Los Angeles International Airport held by the family of the slain 25-year old Israeli-American El Al attendant, Vicky Hen, Rabbi Zvi Block reminds the west of its reciprocal responsibility to guarantee the continued contributions of Jewish people.

El Al LAX Memorial: Nonie Darwish: We Egyptians must also free ourselves of our Jew-hatred

Egyptian Islamist, Hesham Mohamed Hadayat shot and/or stabbed 6 people at Los Angeles International airport on Independence Day 2002, the first Independence Day following Al Qaeda's attacks on the World Trade Center, U.S. Pentagon, and attempt to crash the Capitol.  Had passengers and El Al security not wrestled his weapons during the attack, other airline's passengers might have been massacred.  See Democracy Broadcasting's story from last years annual memorial, Assessing our resistance to jihad on the 10th memorial of the Independence Day Islamic terror attack on L.A.X.

El Al attendent, Victoria Hen, and Jacob Aminov were the two Israeli-Americans who died of the shots inflicted Hesham Mohamed Hedayat, that July 4th, 2002 morning.  Aminov, a father of 5 children (and 1 on the way) was only dropping-off a friend flying on El Al, Michael Shabtai (whose post-traumatic stress disorder from the bloodbath contributed to his pre-mature death at age 57).

Avi and Rachel Hen, parents of L.A. terror victim, Vicky Hen, have organized a memorial vigil at L.A.X. each year since the first anniversary of the deaths.

The Islamist who attacked travellers at L.A.X. is part of the movement the Egyptian public have rejected in droves in the streets.  Muslim-raised Egyptian, Nonie Darwish, delivered this impassioned plea at a memorial to the Israeli-American victims.  She apologized for the racism in Arab / Muslim society which terrorizes to conquer non-Muslims- especially Jews, which is promoted in mosques and schools.

Ms. Darwish calls for awareness to - and an end to - Egypt's Nazi-inherited demogoguery of Jew-hatred - which creates a straw-man enemy distraction for failing societies- plus threats to the safety and stability of Jews and the societies in which they live around the world- especially Israel.  She says Muslims must give-up their Holy War against Jews and Christians.  Egyptians' rebellion against the Muslim Brotherhood's Islamism shows the world that Muslims are ready for moderation and reform.

At the 11th memorial of the Islamic terrorist attack at LAX which killed his daughter, Victoria, Avi Hen questions for the press whether security lapses (local and federal) which contributed to the near massacre of the Int'l Terminal by a West Coast Jihadist were intentional or coincidental- as he feels there has been no accountability or justice for Victoria's survivors.

Avi Hen expressed to the press (from 4 TV channels) his frustration with what he has experienced as authorities' stonewalling, lack of accountability on airport police absence enabling the attempted massacrist access to International Terminal.

Klaus Ben-Ami Hackel, El Al's station manager at that time, has been a consistent attendee, along with some of El Al's desk personnel at the time.  The German-raised Mr. Hackel was exposed to Palestinian terrorism in Munich during the '72 Olympics Massacre.  As Lufthansa's station manager at Israel's airport, he strove to avoid terror.  When El Al hired him, he redoubled his efforts to avoid Islamic terror on the Israeli airline for years. But when he transferred to L.A.X. airport, Islamic terrorism finally caught up with him, attempting a massacre on his watch. At the memorial, Mr. Ben-ami Hackel discusses the impact of the 2002 jihadist attack on his life and our world.

Dror Ben-Ami, partner of Klaus Ben-Ami Hackel, attending the EL AL memorial ceremony at L.A.X. expressed dismay at Israeli-Americans' complacency in failing to stand-up for their own and to deter enemies.

Mr. Ben-Ami warns that like their Nazi predecessors, what starts as against only Jews, never ends with Jews, but is a threat of Muslim power against all non-Muslims.

The attack occurred just 10 months after the US declared War on Terror.  L.A. airport, city and federal authorities were reluctant to acknowledge that another Islamist network succeeded in nearly massacring the International Terminal at Los Angeles Int'l Aiport.

Remembering the victims of the first, Islamic terror attack in Los Angeles - Orange County Egyptian-immigrant nearly massacred EL AL Flight 106 ticket line on July 4th, 2002

"Los Angeles Airport -- top target of terror attacks, lax security, TSA agent arrested" Julia Davis wrote in Examiner.com Jan 22, 2010.

LAX should is no stranger to counter-terrorism. Three of the four planes involved in the jihadist attacks of September 11, 2001 were originally headed for Los Angeles. American Airlines Flight 11, and United Airlines Flight 175, were from Logan International Airport, in Boston, Massachusetts, and American Airlines Flight 77 was from Washington Dulles International Airport, in Dulles, Virginia.\ LAX has direct flights to North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East – more direct flights than any other airport in the world.

NY Senator Chuck Schumer said, "You don't have to be Albert Einstein to realize that flights that originate in foreign countries pose a greater danger. There's a perfect storm for airport security overseas. Lax security checks, complacent government officials, and terrorists who exploit them. During the Millenium holiday in 2000, Al-Qaeda attempted to bomb LAX, although the bomber, Ahmed Ressam, was apprehended in Port Angeles, Washington, with a cache of explosives in the trunk of his rented car. Ressam, also known as the Millenium Bomber, transported the explosives from Victoria, British Columbia, aboard the ferry "Coho".

Mr. Hadayat Belonged to Egyptian Jihad, al Qaeda’s Operational Arm

Hashem Mohamed Hadayat, 41, who gunned down Yakov Aminov, 46, and Vicky Hen, 25 – both from Los Angeles - on the 4th of July at the El Al terminal of Los Angeles, and wounded 7 others, was revealed by intelligence and counter-terror sources as a Muslim extremist. During his ten years in the United States, he was a secret operative of the Egyptian Jihad who maintained undercover links to the same Jihad cell in Brooklyn, New York, as the “blind sheikh” Abdul Rahim Rahman and Ramzi Yousef. Both are doing time for perpetrating the first attack on the New York World Trade Center in 1993.

This is the same cell that spawned El Sayyid Nosair, who assassinated the Judaic leader Rabbi Meir Kahane. Nosair's ties to the terror ring and it's goals might have been uncovered during the Kahane trial had the appropriate leads been followed. In the words of the Investigative Project's Steven Emerson, "Had there been a thorough analysis of the Nosair materials, and had there been more careful utilization of the Egyptian informant, the World Trade Center bombing could have been avoided."

Hadayat is also believed to have abetted a previous, contrived airline disaster: On October 31, 1999, an Egyptair Boeing 767 Flight 990, which also took off from Los Angeles Airport for Kennedy, New York. After Kennedy, the plane bound for Cairo plunged into the Atlantic off the Nantucket Island, Mass. coast, killing all 217 passengers and crew. In a special probe, the US National Transportation Safety Board found that the copilot Gameel el-Batouty was at the controls when the plane went into its dive. His voice was recorded shouting, “I put my faith in Allah!” (Source Terrorism 101 Debka LAX)

The victims of Hadayat's attack on El Al Flight 106 are commemorated each year at LAX on July 4th. In 2011, some of those who were there retold their experiences of that fateful, July 4, 2002 morning.

2012 marks the 10-year since the shooting. In addition to Yakov Aminov, 46, and Vicky Hen, 25 who were killed, at least 4 more were wounded: Haim Sapir, the El Al security guard whose bullets ultimately stopped the attacker; Sarah Philips, a then 61-year old traveler from Canada; Arie Golan, then 54, who suffered superficial stab wounds; and an anonymous El Al security guard. Worthy of distinction is Dr. David Parkus, a trauma surgeon from Beaumont, Texas, who jumped in to wrestle the shooter.

How many more innocent Jewish and Israeli people have to get injured or murdered before the authorities supposed to be protecting us begin to acknowledge the motivations and protect the targets of Islamist extremism? Aggression directed at Jews never ends at Jews. It didn't with Germany's National Socialist Party and it didn't with the Islamist-killers of Rabbi Meir Kahane who went on, unfettered, to bomb the World Trade Center in '93.

Updated 2022: Jews are the most frequent target of anti-religious hate crimes. A Jewish person is approximately twice as likely to suffer a hate crime than a black person or a Muslim, 10 times more likely than an Asian or a Latino and 20 times more likely than a non-Hispanic white. The majority of antisemitic acts against Jews in Europe are committed not by the Christian Right, but by Muslim immigrants.

As Jonathan Tobin, managing editor of JNS.com, wrote in "Don't Blame the Surge of European AntiSemitism on the Populists," National Review (5/19):

... the recent wave of immigrants from Muslim and Arab countries has created a vast new constituency for Jew-hatred. There is a long tradition of contempt for Jews in Islamic culture that has only been exacerbated by their resentment over the creation of Israel. Muslim expressions of hatred for Israel and Jews are now indistinguishable from the anti-Semitic invective of many Europeans. This has created a bizarre alliance among Muslims, leftist academics, and other elites who aim to delegitimize Israel, Zionism, and Jews.

Joanna Markind wrote in "Who is Behind Anti-Semitic Attacks in the US," The Tower (April/May '17):

The problem of Arab/Muslim anti-Semitic violence is especially prominent in Europe. According to a 2015 review by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), “Statistics for France and Great Britain from the last decade show that antisemitic perpetrators have been disproportionately of Muslim origin.” Conservative estimates for Britain, where Muslims are roughly five percent of the population, indicate they commit 20-30 percent of anti-Semitic hate crimes. In France, where eight percent of the population is Muslim, at least 30 percent of anti-Semitic incidents are perpetrated by Muslims and/or Arabs, and “adding the number of non-identified perpetrators, the actual percentage can be estimated to be above 50 percent,” according to ISGAP. A 2015 British parliamentary report noted that a “high proportion of [anti-Semitic] cases involved someone from a Muslim background.”
