PBS airing Ken Burns' docu on Righteous-Gentile, Holocaust rescuers; US Holocaust Museum Lecture tour details

Documentary Tells Untold Story of American Husband and Wife Who Spent Nearly Two Years on Life-Threatening Missions in Europe to Save Refugees and Dissidents from Nazi Occupation

DEFYING THE NAZIS: THE SHARPS’ WAR, a new documentary co-directed by Ken Burns and Artemis Joukowsky about a little-known but important mission by an American minister and his wife to rescue refugees and dissidents in Europe before and after the start of World War II, will air on September 20 at 9 pm (check local listings) on PBS. Join the conversation with #SharpsWarPBS.

Artemis Joukowski and Ken Burns promote Defying the Nazis

The 90-minute film tells the story of Waitstill and Martha Sharp, a Unitarian minister and his wife from Wellesley, Massachusetts, who left their children behind in the care of their parish and boldly committed to multiple life-threatening missions in Europe. The couple provided relief to embattled groups, raised money for refugee aid and smuggled Nazi targets, including children, out of the country. They are two of the five Americans who have been inducted by Yad Vashem, the Israeli Holocaust museum, as Righteous Among the Nations

Over two dangerous years they helped to save hundreds of imperiled political dissidents and Jewish refugees fleeing the Nazi occupation across Europe. “The story of Waitstill and Martha Sharp is one of the most incredible tales of compassion, sacrifice and heroism that I have ever heard, and I was completely unaware of it until five years ago when Artemis Joukowsky first shared it with me,” said Ken Burns. “Nearly three years before America as a nation became involved in the Second World War, these two unassuming, so-called ‘ordinary’ Americans gave up everything they knew and loved and risked their lives to become involved in a war 4,000 miles away because they knew there were people in grave danger who needed help.”

On Oct. 7, 2015 the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum presented “Two Who Defied the Nazis” as the 7th annual, Linda and Tony Rubin Lecture The program, a timely reminder of what refugees endure, was held at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles. The Sharps' remarkable actions are documented in a collection of personal papers that have been donated to the Museum.

The Museum’s Western Regional Director, Steve Klappholz and the Defying's director and filmmaker (and Sharp grandson) Artemis Joukowsky appeared.  Mr. Klappholz (in a prepared statement) wrote “We are fortunate to have such a high-caliber film produced by Ken Burns to learn about the heroics of these two individuals and to better understand their challenges and struggles during what was the beginning of such a bleak time in Europe.” JewTube.Info spoke with him at the event.

Artemis Joukowsky- grandson of Sharp heroes
Artemis Joukowsky, a film producer and co-founder of No Limits Media, is the grandson of Waitstill and Martha Sharp and has spent decades researching their story. He is the author of a companion book to the film, featuring a foreword by Ken Burns, published by Beacon Press.
“Beyond the cloak-and-dagger suspense of my grandparents’ experience, it is a story of what America meant to refugees fleeing war-torn countries to build new lives. And it underscores what Waitstill would call ‘a collaborative effort’ of how a small but effective underground network of rescue workers saved as many lives as they could, and how important that lesson is for what is happening today,” said Mr. Joukowsky.

Islamist violence stings Zionistic-Christian community; Muslim co-worker shoots "Messianic Jewish" mentor among 31-shot in SoCal "sudden jihad" massacre

"What begins against the Jews never ends with just the Jews."

San Bernadino, California "instant jihadist" attackers, Syed Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 27, were killed in a gun battle with police in
San Bernardino after their mass shooting at a conference center with some of his work-mates. Some neighbors considered the ethnic Pakistani couple as normal, though another noticed an odd number of package delivers and Muslim visitors working in their garage. She reportedly said that fear of being called "racist" inhibited her from reporting her suspicions to authorities.

Police said 14 people were killed and 21 were wounded after the married couple opened fire at the Inland Regional Center on Wednesday, December 2nd.

Among the casualties was Farook's colleague, Nicholas Thalasinos, 52, a Messianic Jew who reportedly clashed with Farook over Islam two weeks ago.

Nicholas, a fervent Zionist (who would wear tzitzit, and a tie-clip with the Star of David) would defend Israel against jihadist antagonists on Facebook. He corresponded with an Israeli friend of JooTube, Bat-Zion Susskind telling her: "As a gentile who loves HaShem, I know my place is to support Israel and the Jewish people."

Ms. Susskind writes: "Nicholas fought against those who were proselytizing and making every effort to convince Jews that theirs is the right way! Nicholas was an amazing human being who supported Israel UNCONDITIONALLY, a Pro-Zionist, a sincere and honest man without any agenda who defended Israel and the Jewish people at any given moment."

Thalasinos' last public Facebook post, written just hours before the shooting, mentioned receiving a threatening message related to Israel. The threat included the words "You will die soon." In the post he defended Israel, and emphasized his pride at being labeled a Jew.

His friend, Kuuleme Stephens said that though they would debate Islam and Israel, Thalasinos did not believe his co-worker, Syed Farook, would ever turn violent. FBI agents discovered a huge arsenal – including nearly 5,000 rounds of ammunition, a dozen pipe bombs and hundreds of tools for making IEDs at the couple’s home. It also emerged that Farook was in touch by phone and through social media with more than one international terrorism subject.

Messianic Jews are Christians who adopt Jewish religious practices, but maintain belief in the Trinity and Jesus/Yeshua as Moshiach.

Michael Medved responded to JewTube's question at the Orthodox Union West Coast Conference this week- regarding Islamic anti-Semitism as a factor in Farook's killing his work trainer, Thalasinos- and Jewish demoninations' need to address Islamic anti-Semitism.

For the past number of years, the Zionistic Christian group, Proclaiming Justice Among the Nations, hosts a joint Jewish/Christian event at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville. Topics include showing their devotion to Israel and opposing anti-Semitism. The meetings attract Christians, Jews, and Messianic-Jews of varying degrees.

Doing business with Israel and Israelis - at The Israel Conference in Los Angeles

How well do Israeli ventures provide for non-Jewish investors and business-people?  Oded Vardi at The Israel Conference in L.A. fields questions regarding Israel's practice and image in business in the world for investors, customers, and venture partners.

Mr. Mike Holstein has been attending The Israel Conference for years. Mr. Holstein explains why, though he has never travelled to Israel, he finds doing business with Israeli companies more western than Mid-Eastern in culture, practice, and law.

Why this African-American Pepperdine University graduate student volunteered to contribute her time and effort to promote Israeli business:

Can this Israeli unite Jews & Christians to resist the repressors of Israel and the god of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob?

American-born Israeli, Avi Lipkin addressed an L.A.-area, Act! for America gathering with strategies gleaned from monitoring Islamic media, about their plans to Islamize the West - with the facilitation of Muslim-raised, Barack Hussein Obama in the White House.

In this video, he addresses what he sees as the plan to destroy Jewish Israel - and the Israeli political party he is forming, with Jews and Christians, to save Israel, according to Torah principles.

Glenn Beck calls Christians towards philo-Semitism, philo-Zionism

In his insightful remarks to Christians United for Israel in Washington  July 19, Glenn Beck addresses issues of Christian anti-Semitism, Christian complacency towards the Nazi Holocaust, Jewish fear of Christians, and mankind's obligation to act-up against anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism, and defend Israel against threats, cultural, political, and violent.

"The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a stage towards the destruction of Israel and the West"- Glenn Beck addresses Israel's Knesset

Introduced by Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, Danny Danon (MK- Likud), Glenn Beck expresses concern that the commotion over his outspoken support for Israel represents a disconcerting, anti-Semitic atmosphere in the West.

The Jerusalem Post reports:
In his classic simplified yet brazen style, the pundit explained "the few things I actually know" about Israel:

1) The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is about destruction of Israel and the West.

2) Anti-semitism is going to go through the roof. When these conditions appear, it's always the Jews fault. It's not about the holocaust, (that's) just the latest in a string of events thousands of years. Holocaust is just the one they made a movie about. It was the same way all the time.

3) The world is about to change, so think differently. Everything you thought you can count on, forget about it, (and) create new systems.

4) The truth shall set you free.

Beck then explained that his plan for Israel advocacy is based on communal outreach. "If you go to a synagogue, reach out to a church. If you go to a church, reach out to a JCC. Say, will you watch this with me? After that we'll talk and eat and get to know one another."

The conservative American pundit also discussed his trip to Auschwitz, and his upcoming documentary about it. He applauded the courage of the Israeli populace, the bravery and resilience of the Jewish people, and the humbling experiences he has every time he visits Israel.

After his speech a long list of MK's thanked Beck for his presence and his support, including Nissim Ze'ev, Ayoub Kara, Einat Wilf, Michael Ben-Ari, and Yulia Shalom-Berkovich, to name a few.

At the end of the talk, Marina Solodkin asked Beck to send George W. Bush her love and to ask US President Obama to free Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard.

To close, Beck said that Israel advocacy was more important than his usual work back in the states. "As a man who also worships the one God, in the times that we live in, it is clear that what is going on is God's work. If we are silent, evil will win. But if we stand up and take charge, God will do the rest."

Beck has visited Israel periodically since he his first trip in 2002, but this is the only time he has addressed the Knesset.

Zionistic Christians, PJTN, invoke "never again" to Islamists exploiting anti-Zionism to gain empathy & power

American radio personality, Janet Parshall, delivered a rousing acceptance speech, in being awarded Proclaiming Justice to the Nations' 2011 Ed McAteer Tree of Life Award. PJTN founder, Laurie Cardoza-Moore, introduces Mrs. Parshall at an awards ceremony and special screening of PJTN's "The Forgotten People" at the 2011 National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ed McAteer was so strongly Zionistic that in October 2004, upon his passing, Joseph Farah eulogized him this way in World Net Daily:
McAteer is best known, perhaps, as the founder and president of the Religious Roundtable. But, among his friends, he is better known as a champion of the Jewish state.

"When Jerusalem's mayor, Ehud Olmert, remarked some years ago that Ed McAteer 'should be America's ambassador to Israel,' he was right on the mark," said Herb Zweibon, president of Americans for a Safe Israel.

In fact, I know first hand that when Olmert made that suggestion to McAteer that his response was: "There's no job on Earth, including president of the United States, that I would like more."

Mrs. Parshall called on Christians to overtly stand against anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism, deeming them sins against G-d.  She called for Christians' unconditional support for Israel and the Jewish people in these testing times.

Also addressing the assembled audience of Zionists was Rabbi Gerald Meister. He talks of his recent experience talking with Christian Arabs in Judea and Samaria, Israel.

"Son of Hamas" reveals to rabbi: Israel's problem is that Islam hates Jews; Palestinian leaders sacrifice citizens to malign Israel, steal aid

"Son of Hamas" author, Mosab Hassan Yousef, warns a mixed Christian, Jewish and Muslim audience in L.A. that global Islamism's theological enmity for Jews is fueling pan-Arab Palestinian nationalism to destroy the Jewish state of Israel.

A small group of Muslim men vocally expressed their disdain for Mr. Yousef, booing him and disruptively heckling him "You're a scumbag!" - inadvertently confirming the veracity of his public revelations in this conversation with Rabbi David Eliezre of Chabad of Orange County.

Once poised to lead Hamas's political wing, Mosab Hassan Yousef made a dangerous, courageous and heroic decision -- he is now risking everything to expose closely-guarded secrets that have rocked the Middle East.

The appearance of the Christian-convert Mr. Yousef - organized by Rabbi Moshe Bryski of Chabad of Conejo Valley - attracted an audience of over 1,000 people, including a constituency from St. Paschal Baylon's Roman Catholic Church in Thousand Oaks. Filmed live by DemoCast.TV in Westlake Village, California on Feb 21, 2011.

Pro-freedom congressional candidate, Bob Kunst (I-FL20) campaigns for Jewish voters seeking to clean-up Obama's Islamism-appeasing administration, starting with South Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL 20) on Nov 2nd

Florida Congressional candidate, Bob Kunst (I), discusses how voters can help him to reverse the global instability and economic slide created through the Obama Administration's weak, Jihadism-appeasing foreign and domestic policies.

Mr. Kunst, who is Jewish, expresses his opposition to Jewish social and poltical organizations contradicting Judeo-Christian precepts about guardianship of the Land of Israel to appease the Obama Administration, which empowers Islamist imperialists, like Wahabism from Saudi Arabia, or Iran, in their quest to assert Muslim influence over Israel and America. This trend is avoidable, Mr. Kunst says, by patriots supporting and voting for Mr. Kunst to unseat the Obama Adminstration's anti-Zionism facilitator from south Florida's 20th District, Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, on Tuesday, November 2nd.

"Anti-Israelism is barbarism vs civilization!" Calif US Senate Republican primary candidate Chuck DeVore seeks Jewish votes for Tuesday

O.C. Assemblyman Chuck DeVore - explains his understanding of the Islamist movement's war against Western civilization in this video. DeVore complemented his speech earlier at a pro-Israel rally in Los Angeles. He asserts here, "If Israel were to be conquered by Islamists, they would be emboldened, not appeased, and would next move to step-up their Jihad terrorism against California for their movement."

On Tues, 8 June, Californians will vote in primary elections (polls close 8pm PDT). Registered Republicans and "undeclared" voters can vote for Asm. Chuck DeVore.
