Reflecting on 15-years of lessons of de-occupation, A.F.S.I. revives Jabotinsky's legacy to protect Jewish future

In August 2005, Israel withdrew 9,000 members of Jewish communities plus civil administration from Gaza
During the week commemorating Israel's 2005 voluntary withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, Americans for a Safe Israel honored Zionist pioneer, Ze'ev Jabotinsky's life's work that Jews fortify Israel as their sanctuary from religious and political enemies.

Mr. Aaron Klein, Israeli radio journalist and editor of Breitbart's "Big Jerusalem" section joined, Ron Edelstein, Helen and Judy Freedman in  addressing A.F.S.I.'s Ceremony in NYC on the Ze'ev Jabotinsky's 78th Yahrzeit (Memorial) Ceremony at the Park East Synagogue in Manhattan.

What have the Muslim Palestinians done with their autonomy? Continued the Islamist Hamas campaign to elicit abscondable humanitarian aid by waging a terror war against the Zionist state.

Thirty five months of terror – 13 September 2015 to the present (source Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
Since September 2015, Israel has experienced a wave of terror perpetrated by individuals, many of them very young, inspired by vicious incitement in Palestinian social and traditional media and urged on by the Palestinian leadership.
The newest form of terrorism is "arson terror", to which the Gazans attach incendiary material and send over the border to the Israeli side. Since 30 March, about 800 such kites and helium balloons have been launched (over 600 of them intercepted), causing over 450 fires.  To date, more than 2,600 hectares of agricultural fields and forests (6,424 acres) have been damaged by the fires. The loss to the farmers is estimated at 7-8 million shekels (about $2 million). But the real cost is much higher: the entire eco-system of the western Negev has been affected. Trees that have stood for generations – preventing soil erosion, improving the carbon footprint and providing a habitat for birds and animals – have been destroyed. Experts estimate that it will take decades for the area to recover.
Recently, there has been a massive renewal of rockets and mortar bombs launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory, to date numbering a total of about 672.

On 14 July, about 190 rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israel. One rocket fell in the yard of a house in Sderot, in southern Israel. Four family members were treated for shrapnel/glass shard injuries.
On 8-9 August, more than 150 rockets were launched at Israel from the Gaza Strip. Two Thai workers were injured, one seriously. A number of Israeli civilians were injured and some were treated for panic/anxiety attacks.
"Arson terror" continues. Objects such as kites and helium balloons with incendiary material attached to them, blown by the wind to the Israeli side of the border, have caused about 1,316 fires since March 30, and thousands of acres of forests, nature reserves and agricultural lands have been destroyed, at an estimated cost of $3 million. Experts estimate that it will take decades for the area to recover.

AFSI member, Ron Edelstein, honored Jabotinsky and Betar in keynote address
At A.F.S.I.'s Park East Synagogue event on August 8th, Ron Edelstein, an alumnus of Jabotinsky's Betar-movement summer-camp, delivered this impassioned speech, co-authored by Betar alumnus, Fern Sidman, editor of The Jewish Voice of New York newspaper and news-site:

"... Jabotinsky's legacy is that of a brilliant orator, journalist, statesman and intrepid leader of his people, but his lasting legacy is one of remarkable prescience. As the winds of war stirred in Europe, he traveled to cities, towns and hamlets, warning Jews to leave the Diaspora before the Diaspora vanquishes you.

He knew that a revolutionary spirit must be imparted to the Jew. A spirit that would carry him through the darkest days of all human kind.

As most of you have at least on occasion, I have often thought about what Jabotinsky would say had he lived in contemporary times. Today, we are witnesses to a horrific upsurge of the most egregious forms of anti-Semitism. There is not a day that passes that we don't hear about Europe exploding in visceral Jew hatred. Jews murdered in France, Germany, the UK, - any European country you can think of. But let's speak the truth here and the truth is that Europe can now be aptly called Eurabia - as the massive influx of Muslims and their bellicose belief system has shattered any remaining vestiges of the Europe of yesteryear.

Synagogues, yeshivos and community centers have been targeted and armed guards are an ever present site.
Not only would Jabotinsky launch an emergency aliyah campaign, but I truly believe that he was a realist by nature and knew that many Jews would be reluctant to leave their countries of origin.

I think if Jabotinsky were alive today, he would make it his mission to teach Jews to defend themselves, he would attempt to stem the tide of assimilation among Jews which has morphed into a spiritual Holocaust, the likes of which we have never seen. I believe Jabotinsky would battle the hellacious propaganda of the political left both in the Western world and in Israel and would take on the insidious BDS movement.  (Read more).

AFSI to commence "strengthening mission" to Israeli settlements without Charlotte Wahle, 92, z"l

German-Jewish-Zionist, Charlotte Wahle, devoted her life to promoting Israel and the Jewish people against anti-Israelism & anti-Semitism

From Helen Friedman, Executive Director: "Americans for a Safe Israel mourns the passing of our beloved volunteer of over twenty years, Charlotte Wahle (z"l).  She was buried today at the Beth-El cemetery in Paramus, NJ. Rabbi Schwartz and Rabbi Gans officiated. A devoted group of family and AFSI friends, who made up a large part of her extended family, were present to pay their last respects. An Israeli flag was placed at her grave symbolizing her great passion for Yisrael Shlayma (a whole Israel).
Those who knew Charlotte were always amazed at her tenacity and devotion to AFSI and its principles. She was at every demonstration and protest, wrote letters to the editor, and was a driving force in the AFSI office, even in her 92nd year of life.  In addition, Charlotte's interests kept her active in her synagogue, in politics, and with her many friends and associates.

Those wishing to send donations in her memory are encouraged to send them to AFSI, her favorite organization. Contributions can be sent by check, or through the donation buttons on the www.afsi.org website."

Part of Charlotte's energies went to help arrange AFSI's "Chizuk" (Strengthening) missions to Israel.  AFSI begins another trip this weekend, with Charlotte participating this time from shomayim.

Helen Freedman spoke with JooTube last year about AFSI's tour which would focus on (rather than most others which avoid) Jewish settlements and outposts to live on Jewish holy lands.  Many of these developments face the similar threat of uprooting that Gush Katif experienced in 2005, but at the behest of a new American administration.

Did Moshe Feiglin invoking Jabotinsky legacy in NYC what drove Obama to L.A. for NBC's Leno?

It is 73 years since Ze'ev Jabotinsky's death in 1940 in upstate New York. His words, warnings, beliefs, prophecies are all uppermost in our minds today as we witness the shameful and pointless actions of Israel's leaders. Jabotinsky wrote: "We are not consigned to our fate. We need not concede our national intersts in search of the ever-elusive moral high ground. Our cause is indeed just, and if we have the courage, even in the 11th hour, we can redeem ourselves."

M.K. Moshe Feiglin interviewed about control over the Temple Mount and Western Wall of the Beit Hamikdash by The Temple Institute

Americans for a Safe Israel (AFSI) and the Nordau Circle are sponsoring their Annual Memorial Tribute to Ze'ev Jabotinsky on Tuesday, 6 March, 7:30 p.m., at the Westside Institutional Synagogue, 120 West 76th Street (between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues in NYC). The roster of speakers is impressive. AFSI's Chairman, Mark Langfan will lead off, followed by Rabbi Pesach Lerner, Executive VP Emeritus of National Council Young Israel.

The final speaker will be MK Moshe Feiglin, Deputy Speaker of the Israeli Knesset.  The Memorial program will begin at 7:30 upstairs in the ballroom.

Israelis and Americans are bewildered and confused by the actions of the leaders of both countries. Is Bibi giving in to pressure from the U.S.? Are his actions self-motivated? Is Obama betraying both Israel and America, and indeed the western world by his actions? Is Jabotinsky's "Iron Wall" insufficient?  Speakers on Tuesday evening will be addressing these issues.

Christians and Jews in media unite to ensure Israel and America's blessed future at the National Religious Broadcasters conference

Common interests of support for the Holy Land, resistance to global Jihadism, and greater interest in the Jewish roots of Christianity has Jews and Christians  accepting each other and collaborating today more than ever- as evidenced at the 2012 National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville in February.

The Israeli Ministry of Tourism presented a rousing concert of Israeli song and dance to inspire the gathered broadcasters.

Proclaiming Justice to the Nations' Laurie Cardoza-Moore, who exhibited on the NRB show floor, hosted a panel event which promoted brotherhood between Christian and Jewish Zionists.

A panel addressed issues of Islamic intransigence against peace for the Jewish state of Israel.  Panelists featured in JooTube's video from the affiliated PJTN conference's panel discussion and demonstration: Michael Little of Christian Broadcasting Network; Joseph Farah, editor-in-chief of World Net Daily, Itamar Marcus, founder of Palestinian Media Watch, and Rabbi Gerald Meister.

Rabbi Gerald Meister, a congregational rabbi from the NYC area (affiliated with PJTN) declares that Islamofascists are at war against Christians, Jews, and the God of Jacob, the sustainer of the Covenant.

Mr. Danny Saadon- head of El Al Israel Airlines' North American operations, discusses the human touch from El Al. El Al crews march in the Israel Day Parade in NYC every June. He relates interesting aspects of El Al's revised staffing policies, such as their pilots all being drawn from the Israel Air Force. El Al has extensive relations with the Christian community which constitutes 40% of their passengership. Mr. Saadon touts El Al's security and convenient schedule flying 3 flights daily from the NYC area, direct service from Toronto and Los Angeles.

Christian Zionist founder of Zion Oil and Gas, John Brown, has a few words about Barack Obama for Jewish people.
John Brown and his pastor colleague feel that Barack Obama has demonstrated so much anti-Zionism during his first term, that Jewish people should save their Holy Land and themselves by bringing a fresh President- while they have the opportunty.

Rabbi Pesach Lerner, the leader of America's Young Israel Synagogue movement played a strong role, leading the daily orthodox prayers and kashrut for the 10-20 observant Jews from Israel and America. He explained to the exhibition attendees why the world should stop trying to force Israel to cede most of Judea and Samaria to create an irredentist Palestinian state to a Palestinian leadership which won't accept Israel as its Jewish neighbor, nor will it accept Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria under its protection. Anti-Semitic massacre at Toulouse school; Can Muslims in the West be relied upon to rid the hostility from their culture? Are humanist Jews exploited by CAIR claims of NYPD's "Islamophobia"?

Rabbi Jonathan Sandler of Kiryat Yovel, his two young sons and the young daughter of the principal of the Otzar HaTorah Jewish day school in Toulouse were gunned down by a man wearing a black helmet who had arrived at the school on a black motorbike. A 17-year-old boy was critically injured by the shooter, who reportedly chased children around the school.

Investigators also confirmed Monday evening that they are investigating the connection between the murders of French paratroopers last week and those at the Jewish day school.

Two Paris synagogues were sent threatening letters since Friday, one of which was received Monday morning. “You are the people of Satan, Hell is waiting for you,” was the message written in one of the letters, police sources told the AFP news agency. An investigation has been launched, but at last report, police had not yet linked the threats with the murders at the school in Toulouse. (Source: Israel National News)

Investigators of the Toulouse-murder say they're concentrating on right-wing motives of a suspect. Initial assumptions that an attack on a religious Jewish school in Toulouse, a city with an approximate 10% Muslim population, would be that the attacker would be that a Muslim has targeted Jews.

In this Pew Global Attitudes Project poll released in July, 2011, ratings for Jews are uniformly low in the predominantly Muslim nations surveyed -- in all seven of these nations, less than 10% have a positive opinion of Jews. Indeed, outside of Indonesia, less than 5% offer a positive opinion.

The Parisian synagogue threats also stand a fair chance of being similarly motivated. SunTV of Canada's Michael Coren alleges here that the murders were Islamist-motivated.

But when the NYC Police Department was revealed to have been educating its officers in counter-terror ideology with reference to supremacist elements within Islam, Council for American-Islamic Relations (C.A.I.R.) charged the NYPD- with being "Islamophobic," that is, not the literal phobia/"fear" of Islam, but a  prejudice against Islam.  Rabbi Gerald Meister has declared that given the hostility and terror against non-Muslims manifested in the name of Islam, fear of Islam or true Islamophobia is a healthy reaction of self-preservation. He spoke last month in Nashville about Islamo-fascism as the Muslim holy-war against the G-d of the Jews.

NYC Rabbi Marc Schneier, co-founder of the Foundation For Ethnic Understanding (which fosters “twinning” programs between mosques and synagogues), took the opportunity to organize a gathering of support of Jews and Christians opposing the NYPD's perceived prejudice against Islam or "Islamophobia."

Hindu and Jewish protestors denounced Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Manhattan hosting "Combating Islamophobia" symposium in the wake of Muslim chastising of NYPD for teaching ideology behind Islamist terrorism.

Over 30 protestors gathered in front of the JCC in Manhattan to express their outrage over a forum entitled “Combating Islamophobia.” Article by Phyllis Chesler & Fern Sidman in Israel National News  3/16/12
On Wednesday evening, March 14th, over 30 protestors representing both Jewish and human rights organizations gathered in front of the Jewish Community Center on Manhattan’s upper west side to express their outrage over a forum entitled “Combating Islamophobia.”
Speaking about the recent controversy that has swirled around New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly for authorizing police surveillance of mosques in the New York area and for using the documentary entitled “The Third Jihad” as a training tool for his department - protestor Marion Dreyfus addressed the gathering passionately. “Commissioner Kelly is defending us. He should not be castigated. He should be admired and supported,” Dreyfus remarked.
The panelists of the program, moderated by former first daughter, Chelsea Clinton, included Rabbi Marc Schneier, co-founder of the Foundation For Ethnic Understanding (which fosters “twinning” programs between mosques and synagogues) and Imam Shamsi-Ali, the spiritual leader of the Islamic Cultural Center of New York and the chairman of the Al-Hikmah mosque in Astoria.
Narain Kataria, the President of the Indian American Intellectual Forum, declared, “We should not be talking about Islamophobia - but about whether Islam is (actually) a religion of peace. This should be debated all over the country. We Hindus have suffered at the hands of radical Islamists. I believe that somehow the organizers of the conference on Islamophobia have been either heavily funded or misguided by Muslim organizations into believing that Islam if the religion of peace.” Joining Kataria was protestor Dr. Arish Sahani who declared, “Shame on our intellectuals! Why don’t they teach their students that for 1400 years Muslims have been persecuting non-Muslims?”
Mrs. Helen Freedman, the executive director of Americans For a Safe Israel (AFSI), said, “The JCC, in sponsoring ‘Combating Islamophobia’, is suggesting that it is un-American to fear Islam. Our liberal upbringing causes us to be offended by the accusation that we are racist when it comes to Islam, but isn't there ample justification for concern about a political agenda disguised as a religion which promotes hatred of non-Muslims and women?"
Mrs. Freedman spoke with JooTube about Jewish-Muslim relations, too-forthcoming Jewish apologism for non-Jewish Islamophobia, and whether the Muslim community is doing enough public, self-policing of radicalism, anti-Semitism, and anti-Israelism to justify the bonhomie of Jews.
