Some Arabs want Egyptian judo to scrap scheduled Olympics match vs. Jewish-Israeli at Rio Olympics

by Ruthie Blum in The Algemeiner, Aug 11, 2016
An Egyptian judoka is being pressured on social media not to show up for his scheduled Friday-afternoon fight against an Israeli contender at the Olympics in Rio, the Hebrew news site nrg reportedon Thursday.
According to the report, in spite of repeated assertions from the chairman of the Egyptian Olympic Committee that Islam El Shehaby will appear on the mat for his slated match against Israeli judoka Or Sasson – going as far as to warn the athlete that, if he fails to do so, his Egyptian citizenship will be revoked – calls from fans on Facebook and Twitter for him to shun the fight have been intensifying.
Egyptian judoka Islam El Shehaby
“You will shame Islam,” wrote one angry follower. “If you lose, you will shame an entire nation and yourself. We don’t want to think what will happen if you lost to an Israeli. Victory will give you nothing. How can you cooperate with a murderous nation?”
El Shehaby , who is known for his extreme anti-Israel views, told Egyptian media outlets that he would make his decision closer to the fight. “The situation is very sensitive,” he said. “And I don’t want to discuss it.”
The 2010 World Judo Championship bronze medalist in the over-100-kilo category is supposed to fight Sasson, winner of two silver medals — one in 2015 and a second in 2016 — in the European championships.
According to nrg, Israeli Minister of Culture and Sport Miri Regev called on Egypt to “respect the spirit of the Olympics and act accordingly.” She also called on the International Olympic Committee to prevent the games from being “tainted by politics.”
The controversy surrounding El Shehaby is not the first incident of its kind at the Olympic Games in Brazil.
On August 5, the Lebanese delegation to the games refused to share a bus meant to take the athletes to the opening ceremony with the Israeli team. Subsequently, on Aug. 7, Saudi Arabian judoka Joud Fahmy forfeited her first-round match against Christianne Legentil from Mauritius, reportedly in order to avoid competing against Israeli contender Gili Cohen in the next round.

Tolerating Jihad against Israel results in terror everywhere

Amir Taheri in Asharq al-Awsat July 8, 2016
"When the first wave of terrorism linked to the Middle East started in the 1970s, the assumption in the West was that the disturbing phenomenon reflected Arab anger over the Israel-Palestine issue. . . Peace between Israel on the one hand, and Egypt and Jordan on the other didn’t tone down terror attacks. Nor did the Oslo accords between Yasser Arafat and the Israelis achieve a reduction in terrorist violence."
In Ceremony for victims of Independence Day jihad attack at L.A.X. explores motive, negligence, and cover-up (2014) JewTube.Info laid out the details of the July 4th jihad on L.A:
On Independence Day, the survivors of Vicky Hen held the 12th Independence Day Memorial for victims of the 1st jihadist attack in California- upon the El Al ticket counter of Los Angeles Airport's international terminal - on the 4th of July 2002- 9-months after Sept. 11, 2001. The ceremony by Vicky's survivors, father Avi, mother Rachel, and brother Udi, were comforted by around 3-dozen attendees and speakers.
The 2016 event was smaller- fewer visitors attended, no one from the Israeli Consulate came (or even sent a press-release as they traditionally did). No El Al employees attended- only retired, El Al station-chief Klaus Ben-amy Hackel (accompanied by his partner, Dror, and their daughters) drove down from Bakersfield.

Rabbi Moshe Parry spoke about the authorities' downplaying the Muslim-terror risk to minorities, then and now, and avoiding addressing the special protection Jews and Israelis require.

The L.A. Museum of the Holocaust ("LAMOTH") program, which drew some 1,100 attendees, began at 2 p.m. and included city leaders, rabbis and others, who offered words of remembrance for the 6 million Jews who perished in the Shoah.

Diplomats from Europe & Japan attended L.A. ceremony
“I hope we as Jews will stand up to make sure that just as Germany has accepted its role [in the Holocaust] and has spoken out, and other countries have done the same, it is time for us to see that in every national capital, that when we see the mass extermination of peoples we all have a responsibility to make sure that history is written,” Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said, speaking from the stage under a canopy set up for the day’s program.

Other participants included Rabbi Sharon Brous of IKAR, who delivered the invocation; Consul General of Israel in Los Angeles David Siegel; Holocaust survivor Eva Brettler; The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles President Jay Sanderson; LAMOTH executive director Samara Hutman; and L.A. City Councilman Tom LaBonge, whose district the museum is located. Philanthropist Jona Goldrich, who donated funds toward the construction of the museum, was among those in the audience. Lone-soldier, Max Steinberg's family & friends remember him to nearly 1,000 at L.A.'s Saban Theater, following huge funeral in Israel

A memorial service for fallen Lone Soldier Max Steinberg at the Saban Theatre on Aug. 12, painted the area native as both a normal young adult and a hero, one who loved having fun, formed easy connections with others and whose quest to find himself took him to the Jewish homeland.
The event that attracted about 850 people reinforced how Steinberg — who died July 20 at the age of 24 while fighting in Israel’s war with Gaza — has become an icon for a Diaspora Jewish community that often struggles with finding ways to express its love for Israel. - Ryan Turok in Jewish Journal of L.A. (Advance through 10 segments using forward button on left and/or menu button on right)

Rabbi David Baron of Temple of the Arts, which holds its services at the Saban Theatre, served as master of ceremonies. At one point he asked all of the Lone Soldiers in the crowd — there were dozens —to stand, along with their families. As they rose, so too did the crowd, applauding loudly in thanks for what they’ve contributed to the Jewish homeland.
Baron spoke of the importance of the United States-Israel relationship.
“We commit tonight to ... do our part in the United States to make sure that our nation never wavers one iota from its complete support for Israel,” he said.

Al-Jazeera spoiler, Prof. Mordechai Kedar, on Muslim and Arab prejudices towards Jews and Israel

The number of bombing raids the Syrian Air Force executed upon the Syrian people in the last 2 years exceeds the number of air raids they launched against Israel during their wars in 1948, '67, '73, and '82 combined? As Moses did to Egypt, Jews deserve leaders to better defeat our theo-political oppressors

Orthodox Rabbi Gerald Meister, a leader in Jewish-Christian relations, challenged Jewish leadership on their ineffectiveness in confronting the Jew-hatred in Muslim culture and politics, which underlies anti-Zionism.  (JooTube recorded this interview with Rabbi Meister in Nashville, February, 2012. He passed away erev Pesach, 2013).

"This Passover, Free Us From A Failed Jewish Leadership" Stella Paul in American Thinker, April 23, 2011.
This week is Passover, the season of deliverance, and I'm praying for deliverance from America's failed Jewish leadership.  As Jews confront the most dangerous era since World War II, whom are we stuck with for leaders?  A clueless bunch of mini-Pharaohs, strutting around proclaiming their moral superiority, blissfully unaware the Jewish people's mortal enemies are pulling down their pants and laughing at them.

Cataloguing their collective acts of evasion, cowardice, appeasement, and surrender is not for the faint of heart, but, luckily, I'm fortified by matzo balls and ready to rock.  At the Passover Seder, Jews recite Dayenu, a prayer listing the many blessings bestowed by the Almighty, each of which would have sufficed (Dayenu) in its own right.  Here, alas, is a woeful Dayenu of the failures of the American Jewish establishment.  Can anyone tell me why these preening big shots haven't been forced to resign in shame?  Why, in God's name, are our purported "leaders" still collecting cushy paychecks when their credibility is bankrupt?

If they only had allowed a storm of anti-Semitism to rise in the West, and hate crimes against American Jews to skyrocket to unprecedented heights, while they declined to muster even a listless response -- Dayenu -- they would have failed.

If they only had stood aside, shrugging, while America's college campuses became battlegrounds in the war against Israel, where anti-Semitic lies were force-fed to America's next generation of leaders, and Jewish students were intimidated and taught self-hatred and alienation from their own identities -- Dayenu -- they would have failed.

If they only had refused to educate the Jewish people about the growing threat from radical Islam, and remained silent about the long, tragic history of Jews forced to live as oppressed dhimmis under Muslim rule, as mandated by Koranic law -- Dayenu -- they would have failed.

On first anniversary of French Jewish family murder by a French Muslim in Toulouse, French Pres. Hollande Pays Tribute

French President pays tribute to the seven victims of terrorist Mohamed Merah, says he remains committed to the fight against terrorism  By Elad Benari in Israel National News

French President Francois Hollande during a
memorial ceremony for the Toulouse victims
French President Francois Hollande on Sunday paid tribute to the seven people who last year fell victim to terrorist Mohamed Merah, saying he remains committed to the fight against terrorism

"The fight against terrorism is global... and allows for no easing off, no weakness and no negligence," Hollande told a crowd of around 1,500 people that had gathered in the southwestern city of Toulouse for the service, AFP reported.

"Democracy is always more powerful than fanaticism," Hollande said.

A self-described Al-Qaeda sympathizer, 23-year-old Merah murdered Rabbi Jonathan Sandler, his sons Aryeh and Gavriel and Miriam Monsonego at the Otzar HaTorah school in Toulouse. Before that, he murdered three Muslim paratroopers of North African heritage. Merah was ultimately killed when he tried to flee a raid on his apartment.

Merah, a French citizen with Algerian roots and who in 2011 received military training in Pakistan, said he wanted to avenge the deaths of Palestinian Authority Arab children and punish France for sending troops to Afghanistan.

French police doubt that Merah could have acted alone, but the only person charged with helping him so far is his brother Abdelkader who has denied the charges, AFP reported.

Last month, however, police arrested two men in connection with Merah's killing spree, and in early December a 38-year-old man and his girlfriend were arrested on suspicion of links to the attacks but both were later released without charge.

France has seen a surge of 45% in the number of anti-Semitic incidents over the past year, since the Toulouse attacks.

Last week President Shimon Peres attended memorial events for the victims of the Otzar HaTorah massacre. He also met with the heads of the Jewish community of France and with a delegation of Imams including the heads of the Egyptian, African, Moroccan and Senegalese communities and heads of central mosques.

Dr. Mordechai Kedar: Islamists ride anti-Zionist, pro-Palestinian wave to ascension over liberal democracies

Dr. Mordechai Kedar, who spoiled al-Jazeera's challenge of Israel's overseeing Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria, gives a background of the Islamist view and objectives for dominating Jews, Israel, and non-Muslim societies.  He professes that the liberal-faciliated, Islamic cultural juggernaut which plagues Western European cities today is by design being implemented in the United States and internationally- with particular challenges to Jews as proxy supporters for the Islamist target of Israel- via the establishment of an Islamist Palestine state- which must not, for Jews' sake, be contiguous with Gaza.

Dr. Mordechai Kedar, who teaches Arabic-studies in Israel, addressed the roots of the Islamist problem facing the world today at Jews' expense.

Remembering the victims of the first, Islamic terror attack in Los Angeles - Orange County Egyptian-immigrant nearly massacred EL AL Flight 106 ticket line on July 4th, 2002

"Los Angeles Airport -- top target of terror attacks, lax security, TSA agent arrested" Julia Davis wrote in Examiner.com Jan 22, 2010.

LAX should is no stranger to counter-terrorism. Three of the four planes involved in the jihadist attacks of September 11, 2001 were originally headed for Los Angeles. American Airlines Flight 11, and United Airlines Flight 175, were from Logan International Airport, in Boston, Massachusetts, and American Airlines Flight 77 was from Washington Dulles International Airport, in Dulles, Virginia.\ LAX has direct flights to North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East – more direct flights than any other airport in the world.

NY Senator Chuck Schumer said, "You don't have to be Albert Einstein to realize that flights that originate in foreign countries pose a greater danger. There's a perfect storm for airport security overseas. Lax security checks, complacent government officials, and terrorists who exploit them. During the Millenium holiday in 2000, Al-Qaeda attempted to bomb LAX, although the bomber, Ahmed Ressam, was apprehended in Port Angeles, Washington, with a cache of explosives in the trunk of his rented car. Ressam, also known as the Millenium Bomber, transported the explosives from Victoria, British Columbia, aboard the ferry "Coho".

Mr. Hadayat Belonged to Egyptian Jihad, al Qaeda’s Operational Arm

Hashem Mohamed Hadayat, 41, who gunned down Yakov Aminov, 46, and Vicky Hen, 25 – both from Los Angeles - on the 4th of July at the El Al terminal of Los Angeles, and wounded 7 others, was revealed by intelligence and counter-terror sources as a Muslim extremist. During his ten years in the United States, he was a secret operative of the Egyptian Jihad who maintained undercover links to the same Jihad cell in Brooklyn, New York, as the “blind sheikh” Abdul Rahim Rahman and Ramzi Yousef. Both are doing time for perpetrating the first attack on the New York World Trade Center in 1993.

This is the same cell that spawned El Sayyid Nosair, who assassinated the Judaic leader Rabbi Meir Kahane. Nosair's ties to the terror ring and it's goals might have been uncovered during the Kahane trial had the appropriate leads been followed. In the words of the Investigative Project's Steven Emerson, "Had there been a thorough analysis of the Nosair materials, and had there been more careful utilization of the Egyptian informant, the World Trade Center bombing could have been avoided."

Hadayat is also believed to have abetted a previous, contrived airline disaster: On October 31, 1999, an Egyptair Boeing 767 Flight 990, which also took off from Los Angeles Airport for Kennedy, New York. After Kennedy, the plane bound for Cairo plunged into the Atlantic off the Nantucket Island, Mass. coast, killing all 217 passengers and crew. In a special probe, the US National Transportation Safety Board found that the copilot Gameel el-Batouty was at the controls when the plane went into its dive. His voice was recorded shouting, “I put my faith in Allah!” (Source Terrorism 101 Debka LAX)

The victims of Hadayat's attack on El Al Flight 106 are commemorated each year at LAX on July 4th. In 2011, some of those who were there retold their experiences of that fateful, July 4, 2002 morning.

2012 marks the 10-year since the shooting. In addition to Yakov Aminov, 46, and Vicky Hen, 25 who were killed, at least 4 more were wounded: Haim Sapir, the El Al security guard whose bullets ultimately stopped the attacker; Sarah Philips, a then 61-year old traveler from Canada; Arie Golan, then 54, who suffered superficial stab wounds; and an anonymous El Al security guard. Worthy of distinction is Dr. David Parkus, a trauma surgeon from Beaumont, Texas, who jumped in to wrestle the shooter.

How many more innocent Jewish and Israeli people have to get injured or murdered before the authorities supposed to be protecting us begin to acknowledge the motivations and protect the targets of Islamist extremism? Aggression directed at Jews never ends at Jews. It didn't with Germany's National Socialist Party and it didn't with the Islamist-killers of Rabbi Meir Kahane who went on, unfettered, to bomb the World Trade Center in '93.

Updated 2022: Jews are the most frequent target of anti-religious hate crimes. A Jewish person is approximately twice as likely to suffer a hate crime than a black person or a Muslim, 10 times more likely than an Asian or a Latino and 20 times more likely than a non-Hispanic white. The majority of antisemitic acts against Jews in Europe are committed not by the Christian Right, but by Muslim immigrants.

As Jonathan Tobin, managing editor of JNS.com, wrote in "Don't Blame the Surge of European AntiSemitism on the Populists," National Review (5/19):

... the recent wave of immigrants from Muslim and Arab countries has created a vast new constituency for Jew-hatred. There is a long tradition of contempt for Jews in Islamic culture that has only been exacerbated by their resentment over the creation of Israel. Muslim expressions of hatred for Israel and Jews are now indistinguishable from the anti-Semitic invective of many Europeans. This has created a bizarre alliance among Muslims, leftist academics, and other elites who aim to delegitimize Israel, Zionism, and Jews.

Joanna Markind wrote in "Who is Behind Anti-Semitic Attacks in the US," The Tower (April/May '17):

The problem of Arab/Muslim anti-Semitic violence is especially prominent in Europe. According to a 2015 review by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), “Statistics for France and Great Britain from the last decade show that antisemitic perpetrators have been disproportionately of Muslim origin.” Conservative estimates for Britain, where Muslims are roughly five percent of the population, indicate they commit 20-30 percent of anti-Semitic hate crimes. In France, where eight percent of the population is Muslim, at least 30 percent of anti-Semitic incidents are perpetrated by Muslims and/or Arabs, and “adding the number of non-identified perpetrators, the actual percentage can be estimated to be above 50 percent,” according to ISGAP. A 2015 British parliamentary report noted that a “high proportion of [anti-Semitic] cases involved someone from a Muslim background.”

Pure Jewish souls sacrificed during week of Vayikra, detailing the laws of korbanot

The families that sacrificed their children in Toulouse, France were pious, pedigreed Jews with a special mission,, Israeli Jewish leaders acknowledge.

Bryan Bijaoui, 17, shot struggling with assailant
In Israel National News, an uncle of Chava Malka (the mother of slain schoolgirl, Miriam Monsonego), tells of the family's yichus and the coincidental circumstances surrounding the shooting of Miriam, Rabbi Jonathan Sadler, and his two sons, Arieh and Gavriel. Hospitalized in serious condition with gunshot wounds in his heart and lung is Bryan Bijaoui, 17, a student at Ozar ha Torah who tried to save Miriam Monsonego.

Yehuda Meshi Zahav, the chairman of special burial group- ZAKA, relates how French mother, Chava Malka Monsonego, hugging her deceased daughter Miriam at the funeral home in Jerusalem, requested that he convey this week at the Western Wall of the Beit Hamikdash "how I brought her first-fruits to Jerusalem- that I brought the best of my children as a sacrifice to G-d.

A friend of Rabbi Jonathan Sandler's family, Yaakov ben-Shushan, relates that at a farewell party thrown by Jonathan Sandler's kollel before the Sandler family's 2-year assignment to France, Jonathan cried more than anyone could understand.

Mr. ben-Shushan believes that Jonathan's soul probably felt where he was going, as it says in the Talmud. He himself did not know where he was going, but his soul feared that he was going to a mission from which he wouldn't come back.

Anti-Defamation League denounces U.S. Amb to Belgium Gutman remarks attributing Muslim anti-Semitism to Israel-Palestine

Amb. Howard Gutman (photo: Getty Images via The Forward)
US Ambassador to Belgium, Howard Gutman, at a conference hosted by the European Jewish Union (EJU) in Brussels, Belgium, made a statement saying that there were two types of anti-Semitism: traditional anti-Jewish prejudice and a distinct strain stemming from the on-going Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The White House quickly clarified that the US condemns all forms of anti-Semitism, and Gutman expressed his regret that his comments had been misinterpreted.

In a letter to Ambassador Howard W. Gutman, Anti-Defamation League's National Director, Abraham H. Foxman called Amb. Gutman's remark "wrongheaded" and said that it "provides an unacceptable rationale for inaction" against anti-Semitism. "This assessment of Muslim anti-Semitism, and your attempt to distinguish it from traditional or classical anti-Semitism, is not only wrongheaded but could undermine the important effort to combat the resurgence of anti-Semitism in Europe," wrote Mr. Foxman. "When one tries to attribute this anti-Semitism to outside forces – in this case the ongoing Arab-Israeli conflict – one not only misunderstands the role of anti-Semitism in that conflict, but provides an unacceptable rationale for inaction."
Anti-Defamation Leagues' Rabbi Abraham Foxman

Mr. Foxman added, "Anti-Semitism, indeed Muslim anti-Semitism, was alive and well before the creation of Israel. Indeed, the extreme reaction to an independent Jewish state to this day in the Muslim world is connected to anti-Jewish attitudes that persisted for centuries. If the problem was that the Middle East conflict was coming to Europe, then Europe would be seeing attacks on Muslims by Jews, as well as Muslim attacks on Jews. Of course, there are no attacks by Jews against Muslims."

The League said that while it recognized his effort to provide an analysis of the new forms of anti-Semitism and to grapple with an issue close to his heart, the ambassador needed to "avoid characterizations that contradict efforts by the U.S. to dispel the notion that anti-Semitism could be rationalized in any way as an outlet for frustration with Israel or the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

Islamist calls for Muslims to cut-out tongue of David Letterman; "Slay him as our hero did that other Jew, Rabbi Meir Kahane"

Voz iz Neias reports:
New York, NY - An internet jihadist has called on Muslims in America to kill TV funnyman David Letterman, according to a new report. The threat was allegedly made by Umar al Basrawi, a frequent contributor to an online Islamic jihadist forum, Stars and Stripes reported today. In the post, al-Basrawi directs American Muslims to “cut the tongue of this lowly Jew and shut it forever.” The threat came after Letterman apparently offended al Basrawi by making jokes following the deaths of al Qaeda leaders Usama bin Laden and Ilyas Kashmiri. A spokesman for Letterman declined comment.
The poster wrote: “Is there not amongst you a Sayyid Nosair al-Masri (may Allah release him) to cut the tongue of this lowly Jew and shut it forever. Just as Sayyid (may Allah release him) did with the Jew Kahane.” Sayyid Nosair al-Masri was tried for the murder of Rabbi Meir Kahane in 1990.

White Jihadist guilty of inciting attacks on Jewish schools and day-care centers via online forum

White American convert to Islam incited terrorism, including attacks on Jewish targets.
by Gavriel Queenann Israel National News

A 22-year-old Pennsylvania man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Pittsburgh to soliciting people to engage in acts of terrorism, including attacks on Jewish targets.

Emerson Winfield Begolly, of New Bethlehem, Pa., was an active administrator of an Islamic extremist internet forum that solicited jihadists to use firearms and explosives against police stations, post offices, Jewish schools and daycare centers, military facilities bridges and other targets.

"Jihadist propaganda on the Internet is a serious threat to our safety, and today's plea is the latest example of our Office's efforts to aggressively identify and prosecute homegrown terrorists," Neil MacBride, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, said.

Using the pseudonym Abu Nancy, Begolly used the Ansar al-Mujahideen English Forum to encourage followers to "write their legacy in blood." He applauded the shootings at military facilities throughout Northern

Virginia last October and even posted a manual on how to manufacture a bomb.
In early January of 2011, he assaulted FBI agents as they tried to stop him from pulling a gun, going as far as to biting agents on the fingers.

Begolly is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 29.

Jewish news-website twice hijacked and desecrated by Turkish Muslim hackers

A self-identified Turkish Muslim returned for the second week in a row Saturday night to hack the popular Five Towns Jewish Times newspaper website. Readers of the site were met with a picture of the Statue of Liberty holding a Muslim holy book (likely the Koran) dressed in a burka, the Moslem robe that covers the body.

Saturday evening on December 12th, readers attempting to access the site saw images of burning Israeli flags and a video demonizing former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

The hacker, calling himself Seyhul-isLam, posted the following message to the website. “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter [Al-Maida: 33] Allahu Akbar!!!”

Newspaper staff were still reposting content damaged in last week’s attack when the when the website was taken down for the second time, according to its Israeli correspondent Samuel Sokol. He noted, “The internet has increasingly become a battleground in both the Arab-Israeli conflict and the war against terror. In 2008, a Muslim hacker posted an anti-Semitic message on the website of the Bank of Israel, stating ‘Listen to me Jews - you are a nation whose fate has been decreed… we will kick you out. Millions of young Muslims are ready to die for the sake of Al-Quds [Jerusalem]...’

“In 2006, a Moroccan group calling itself ‘Team Evil’ hacked over 750 Israeli websites over a period of several hours in response to IDF operations in the Gaza Strip following the kidnapping of IDF Corporal Gilad Shalit.” (from Israel National News' Tzvi ben Gedalyahu)

Leftist vandals of Israeli goods discriminate against the rights of both producers & Trader Joe's customers

European Court of Human Rights finds that calls to boycott Israel or her products are discriminatory and punishable.
On the same day that the Hizb ut Tahrir of America Conference demonstrated that the enemies of Zionism are Jihadists, the far-left emerged online, revealing the video of their vandalizing Trader Joe's products made in Israel on June 20th, which they called National Don't Buy Into Apartheid Day.

While Trader Joes' prepared for a chain-wide alert, only S.F. Bay Area and Sacramento stores experienced vandalizing. The vandals defaced store merchandise with their propaganda stickers, making them unsellable. Trader Joe's store management were passive to the dispoiling of their merchandise and did not demand payment from the leftists for it. Despite warnings by employees to refrain from in-store videographing, the vandals filmed their encounter with the manager who did not stop their filming - and even wished them luck with their campaign to stop Trader Joe's to carry products from Israel.

Update 20 July:  On Thursday, the Council of Europe's European Court of Human Rights upheld a French ruling that it was illegal and discriminatory to boycott Israeli goods, and that making it illegal to call for a boycott of Israeli goods did not constitute a violation of one's freedom of expression

The court held the view that France's former Mayor of Seclin, Jean-Claude Fernand Willem, who initiated a boycott of Israeli goods was not convicted for his political opinions, "but for inciting the commission of a discriminatory, and therefore punishable, act. The court found that interfering with the former mayor's freedom of expression was necessary to protect the rights of Israeli producers.
