Orthodox Jews at #CES gather for daily prayers quorum at exhibition

Candid explanation of Orthodox Jewish philosophy from leader of religious Jewish prayers at Consumer Electronics Show 2020, Maurice Ashear of Vivitar Corp of New Jersey.

How are Syrian-American Jews so prominent in Consumer Electronics industry?

"Syrian Jews from Brooklyn and New Jersey so coming back from the old country. In Syria we were all merchants always our grandfathers and great-grandfather's we were always selling stuff what change is we got into electronic Dave so it seems to be that we always look for the trend the trend was electronics and there was enough people doing apparel so we went in leftish Montatre and I went into the electronics and it's been very fruitful and what's interesting is it's not like we're all competing with each other.  The Kadosh Baruch Hu gives makes the pie bigger for all of us not nothing specifically to electronics. It's just that like it.

Speaking of family here's my brother Adam you do it so as you as we like to come together and make prayers together and that's where we get the source of our blessing from a Shem so when we come and we pray together we work together we're not competition today we pray in unison we pray for each other Dupree forgets Rael and therefore we all elevate and make a confession there's wonderful CES my name Jack tomorrow yes and Adam Abraham - no thank you thank yourself oh yeah yeah we're part ticket we will extreme yes the big guy yeah is Marco and Eli."

C.E.S. booth neighbors from Audio-Technica share their perceptions of watching the gathering of Jewish attendees (minimum 10) each afternoon for a prayer service that few gentiles have ever encountered.

Isabelle this is right opposite your booth here have you ever seen anything like it? Not in my day today no yeah? Or at a trade show before I don't think so no and how do you find it you find it uh out of place or intrusive in any way?
No not at all people doing their own thing and that it's uh should be something that be more private or is it okay to do it at a booth at a trade where other people can see? it doesn't matter to me personally I mean would you know yeah it has no effect on me I I I have a feeling it has to affect the booth traffic from a business perspective for the uh owner of the booth but other than that I'm assuming that's okay because there nothing to do this which is fine yeah it has no effect on us whatsoever that's kind of my philosophy in general it has no effect on my existence so I have no problem with it.

How does the industry react to What so many Orthodox Jewish people visibly Orthodox is it a shock to people from the Midwest?

I think most everyone in this building has some interaction with B and H Photo and has experienced this in some uh aspect of their existence So are they good for the industry? You mean B and H? Yeah they're a great partner, yeah!
