Menorah lighting and Chanukah concert in L.A. draws many revelers, civic leaders

Jewish kids given public Chanukah celebration at L.A.'s Universal CityWalk.

On Sunday, December 9th, L.A.'s 1th annual menorah lighting at Universal Studios CityWalk, brought more than 1000 people to be entertained by Jewish performers, among them rock-band 8th Day, Piamenta-NextGen, and rave-pianist Mendel Simon.

(Click second button on bottom left to advance through the playlist of clips).

Rabbi Jonathan Herzog coordinated civic leaders Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Councilman Mike Zine, City Controller and mayoral candidate Wendy Gruel, and Israel Consul General David Siegel to master the reluctant oil lamps and kindle the menorah on the second night of Chanukah, 2012 with Rabbi Morty Einbinder of Chabad of the Valley.  Universal Studios Hollywood President, Larry Kurzweil led the lighting, welcomed the celebrants, and offered encouragement and support for America's ally, the Holy Land of Israel.

Chabad of Simcha Monica celebrates the meaning of Hanukah in menorah-restricted Santa Monica

Rabbis Shlomo Menkes, Issac Levitansky, Shlomo Heidingsfeld, and Rebbitzens Devorah and Suri Levitansky lead families of the Chabad-Lubavitch sect to welcome the 1st night of Hanukah- 3-blocks from the Santa Monica beach on the Pacific Ocean.

Atheists recently led the City of Santa Monica, California to prohibit leaving religious holiday displays (such as the extensive Nativity-Scene diaramas which had overlooked the beach). The Hanukah Menorah which for over a decade had remained on the Promenade for the 8-days of Hanukah, like the Nativity displays, now can only be displayed during a live celebration. The Menorah in the background was removed at the 11pm Saturday conclusion of the event.

Any other menorahs placed in Santa Monica from now on (without a live accompaniment) will be on private property.

Prof. Alan Dershowitz & 1st Israeli Paralympics gold-medaller, Noam Gershony, address Zionist advocacy group StandWithUs

Elon Gold performed master-of-ceremonies services for the L.A.-based, Zionist advocacy organization, Stand With Us', Festival of Lights fundraising dinner 12/2/12. The 11-year old group primarily serves Zionist-advocacy assistance on academic campuses.
Prof. Alan Dershowitz delivered remarks about Israel's problems from the White House and the United Nations.

The attendees were also addressed by Israel's first, gold-medal winning paralympian, wheelchair tennis athlete (downed helicopter pilot) Noam Gershony (who bested his American opponent to win the finals). From the Israeli Consulate, Consul General David Siegel, Carolyn ben Natan, and Danny Gadot attended. The 11th anniversary brought together a number of early L.A. Zionist activists, including Gary Ratner (now an executive at StandWithUs), Scott Jacobs, editor of JewTube.Info, and Allyson Rowen Taylor (like Ratner, formerly with the AJC, today an interior designer, artist, and painter).  Philanthropic families- Ellie and Bruce Lederman and Debbie and Naty Saidoff contributed to hosting the event.

Prof. Alan Dershowitz's keynote speech before 1100 attendees, touched on Hamas, Gaza, apartheid, Iran, and the Obama White House.

Pathologist at Arafat's hospital breaks silence: "Absolutely no way Arafat was poisoned!"

In a report by Anica Pommeray published in the Times of Israel (Nov 13, '12) Dr. Roland Masse, a specialist on radioactivity and professor at Percy military hospital which treated Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, declared that Arafat had been tested for radioactive poisoning, and its symptoms would have been ‘impossible to miss.’.
A leading French doctor who teaches at the Paris hospital where Yasser Arafat died in 2004 has broken the official French medical silence surrounding the case to tell The Times of Israel, based on Arafat’s medical report, that there is “absolutely no way” the Palestinian leader was poisoned.
Dr. Roland Masse, a member of the prestigious Académie de Médecine who currently teaches radiopathology at Percy Military Training Hospital in the Paris suburb of Clamart, where Arafat was hospitalized two weeks before his death on November 11 eight years ago, spoke to The Times of Israel to scotch the allegations of polonium poisoning two weeks before a group of scientists are set to take samples for testing from Arafat’s body.
Masse said the symptoms of polonium poisoning would have been “impossible to miss,” noted that Percy had tested Arafat for radiation poisoning, and revealed that the hospital specializes in the related field of radiation detection. “A lethal level of polonium simply cannot go unnoticed,” he said, speaking as workers in Ramallah on Tuesday began the process of preparing Arafat’s grave for exhumation.

Pat Condell says jihadist Hamas, not Israel, is the obstacle to Palestinians' freedom

Lucid cultural analyst, Britain's Pat Condell, shatters the cowed Western delusion that jihadist Palestinian Hamas can be negotiated into providing peace for Gazan Arabs or Israel before they conquer the Jewish state.

Israelis join Jews & Christians in confronting their detractors, Islamst / Far-Left antagonists

Maya Hayon, 17, counselor with Israeli Scouts of America
demonstrates support for Israeli Pillar of Defense at L.A. rally

L.A. riot-squad riflemen close down major intersection to separate factions

As occurred during 2008's Operation Cast Lead, Israel's Operation "Pillar of Defense" to neutralize Hamas' incessant terror rocketing, incites anti-Israel activity on the streets and in the media.  Much of the Hamas provoking Israeli retaliative casualties (and corresponding, western Islamist/anti-Capitalist street protesting) occurs for the purpose of directing the media to vilify Israel and build international pressure against her; and to stimulate public empathy towards the Palestinian Arabs- which generates international aid and political benefits (such as support in the U.N. for Palestinian nationalism- precluding the Oslo obligations for direct negotiations.

Islamist activists groups work hand in hand with sophisticated, far-left activist groups- united in their desire to weaken and assume leadership over capitalist America and Israel. On Thursday eve 15 Nov, an anti-Israel rally was held outside of the new Israeli Consulate location in L.A. by American Muslims for Palestine carrying placards and signs given to them by the far-left ANSWER.  No Israel-advocacy group counter-protested the well-organized (and led chanting) anti-Zionists.  Merely a handful of concerned Jews individually showed-up to counter-protest.

The anti-Zionist axis is indignant and aggressive- especially as the pro-Israel groups who might come down are reasoning, Jewish-Americans who assume that by declaring that "Israel wants peace" they'll somehow claim the high-ground over ethnic minorities who want to kill them because their fellow colonialist Zionists dispossessed them from their indigenous homeland.  But as this video from Friday's San Francisco Pro-Hamas (meaning anti-Zionist) demonstration shows, perceived weak  counter-protests embolden aggression, such as this anti-Semitic lesbian karate-kicking a 62-year old man in the abdomen.

While the 4-year old, Israeli Leadership Council, with a membership of Israeli-immigrant Americans, has organized cultural and educational events, on Sunday 18 Nov they joined with Jewish-American groups to come out and rally public support for Israel.  And without a great deal of slogan-chanting organization, while many mothers and daughters sang songs of peace, many of the men (and women)- who are I.D.F. military veterans- felt antagonized by the vitriolic Islamist/Marxists whose protest was smaller and weaker.  Some of the Israelis crossed Wilshire Blvd to get better heard by the anti-Zionists. And there were only a few police there (unlike Thursday night) and a scuffle broke out in which an Arab slipped, but police and private security separated the small group.

L.A. pro/anti-Israel rally draws menacing response towards Jews from police

Do the Israelis and Zionists (several Christians joined the Jewish Americans) have a right to be able to assemble without being intimidated by the militaristic conduct of the police which ensued?  StandWithUs leader, Roz Rothstein told JooTube that the police wanted to disperse the pro-Israel crowd- and asked her to do it from the police car megaphone. Most complied, though there were a few who lingered in the parking lot of the Federal Building - the same lot in which many of the aggressive Islamists & Leftists needed to enter to get their cars out.  The police created a protective circle around them and escorted them to the lot- backed by the rifle wielding riot-squad.

Not that the Muslims really had any reason to fear in the parking lot.  But will the Israeli-immigrants continue to put a little skin in the game?  And how will they influence the tone of representing the Jewish community against anti-Zionist, Jew-hate rallies- which, in war times, can morph into pogroms?
Proud, Israeli-American young people the police separated the Islamo-Marxists from

StandWithUs co-leader Roz Rothstein reflects on the pro-Israel gathering, the Islamo-Leftist counter-protest, and the  militaristic police response.

Rabbi Parry counters anti-Israel protest at Israeli Consulate in L.A. almost singlehandedly

Outside the Israeli Consulate in L.A Thurs eve 15 Nov, Islamist & far-leftist anti-Zionist groups (led by American Muslims for Palestine) stage a vitriolic protest to Israel's attempt to stop incessant Palestinian terrorist rocketing.

The protest (which drew reporters from all local TV stations) was counter-rallied by not one, single, pro-Israel organization in Israel's defense. Rabbi Moshe Parry, an unemployed teacher, stepped-up to challenge the protestors and provide a Zionist perspective to the media.

But one of the the Muslim protestors we interviewed, Gazan-born, Ziad el-Alami, reveals an objective which goes far beyond the immediate- their goal is to conquer the State of Israel. Rabbi Parry declares that Jews will never be safe alongside an irredentist movement in (Gaza and Judea & Samaria) convinced to conquer the Jewish state.

A Hal Lindsey Ministries Christian minister appeals to voters Americans to protect Israel by denying Obama a second, more perilous term.

The late Andrew Breitbart discussed with DemoCast Obama's hidden personal history holds his pro-Palestinianist/Leftist, anti-Zionist upbringing. He praises conservative Christians for valuing Israel in their voting, more than liberal Jews- dedicated more to social issues.

Rabbi David Algaze, Jon Voight, Ed Ames, Obama's rabbi cousin in the concluding segment of "Israel under Obama." What transformed Barry Soetoro into Barack Hussein Obama? With so much undisclosed about him- except his demonstrated transforming the Middle East into Islamist-dominated societies- how can we risk he and Valerie Jarret won't continue "running interference" for Iran to nuclear weaponize - and be used to nuclear-blackmail the world?  Rabbis David Algaze, Rabbi Moshe Parry, Obama's cousin Rabbi Funnye, actors Ed Ames and Jon Voight all espouse their observations about the Obama Administration's ideology and renewing its reign.

"Are American and Israeli Jews out of touch with each other?" Israel Matzav

Are American and Israeli Jews out of touch with each other? by Israel Matzav Wed Nov 7

President Obama's re-election proves once again that no matter how badly a Democrat acts against the Jews' interests, they'll still keep voting for him anyway
With a list of swing states painted blue as the vote count proceeded, Obama’s Democratic victory was clinched with narrow predicted victories in the battleground states of Florida and Ohio, both with significant Jewish populations.
Obama cemented his win by keeping a firm grip on the Democratic base, including Jewish liberals, along with a massive victory among African Americans and a huge win among Latinos.
Jewish Republicans have conducted their largest ever mobilization of activists and of funds, arguing that Obama, now poised to enter his second term in the White House, would maintain an unfriendly attitude toward Israel. The results of this massive Republican effort, according to exit polls conducted on election day, are mixed.
The early data indicates that 70% of Jewish voters chose Barack Obama, a slight decline compared to the 2008 election in which Obama won 74% of the vote according to a compilation of national and local exit polls. (Republicans maintain that Obama’s showing last night among Jewish voters should be compared to his national exit poll outcome in 2008 which was 78%.) Either way, the polls reflect some decline in the support of Jewish voters for the Democrats.
...
Florida, one of three key swing states that determined the election and the prime target of Republican and Democratic Jewish outreach effort, seemed to have been a bit more receptive to the Republican message, with 34% of Jewish voters, according to exit polls, voting Romney. Still, the heavily Jewish populated counties of Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade, voted heavily toward Obama, accounting for his narrow lead in the state.
In contrast, you will recall that last week I reported that American Jews living in Israel voted for Romney over Obama 85-14%. Are American Jews and Israeli Jews out of touch with each other?

I don't believe that American and Israeli Jews are out of touch with each other. I don't have the numbers to prove this yet, but my guess is that the Orthodox Jewish numbers in the US will be very close to those Israeli numbers. That's partly because most American Jews who move to Israel are Orthodox, and partly because American Jews, like their Israeli counterparts, make Israel, rather than abortion rights or gay marriage, their top concern.

What Israel might need to work on is convincing American Jews of the importance of supporting Israel. That may sound surreal 64 years after the Jewish state declared its independence, but as the Holocaust recedes into memory, the younger generation just doesn't see the importance of a Jewish state. And that's partly because many of them have a very weak sense of Jewish identification. They've never been to Israel, and they've probably not had a whole lot of Jewish education.

Alternatively, we can wait around for most of the uncommitted Jews to intermarry and then the remaining Jewish vote will be strongly pro-Israel and, if current trends continue, more Republican. That seems to be what's happening anyway.

Recall this chart:

Israel Matzav: Poll: Jewish Israelis prefer Romney to Obama 57-22

JPost diplomatic correspondent Herb Keinon tweets that Jewish Israelis prefer Mitt Romney to Barack Hussein Obama by a 57-22 marginaccording to an Israeli Democratic Institute/Tel Aviv University poll (about as Leftist a pollster as you can get). 'Israeli Arabs,' on the other hand, prefer Obama to Romney by 45-15.

Most Israeli Jews (53%) do not blame Prime Minister Netanyahu for the lack of negotiations with the 'Palestinians' - saying that there was no opportunity - while 59% of 'Israeli Arabs' claim there was an opportunity.

Jewish values and interests in the US Presidential election

Two columnists from The Jerusalem Post, Martin Sherman and Caroline Glick (and one US syndicated columnist and radio host) contend that re-electing Barack Obama is antithetical to pro-Israel values, but also to Jewish-American values.

"If you are Jewish..." by Martin Sherman in The Jerusalem Post; 10/18/12

Israel aside, the unquestioning, almost Pavlovian, suport US Jews give Obama is inconsistent with their values and incompatible with their welfare.

As I have stated previously, I am not among the most strident critics of Barack Obama. Indeed, I find some of the vitriol directed against him by some of his more radical detractors both tasteless and baseless.
That said, I am convinced that his reelection is liable to be a calamity of epic proportions — with incalculable, probably irreversible, repercussions for US interests, both at home and abroad (at least as they have been traditionally perceived), and for those of its longstanding allies — particularly Israel.
After four years and $5 trillion dollars, since the inspiring 2008 rallying call of “Hope and Change,” all the American people have been left with is changes that have failed and hopes that have faded.

US Jewry’s cherished values by Caroline Glick  10/11/2012

For 70% of American Jews, party loyalty trumps all of their conceivable rational interests.

Obama’s economic policies have taken a huge toll on the economic fortunes of American Jews who invest disproportionately in the stock market. His nationalization of the college loan business has given universities impetus to raise tuition rates still further, thus dooming more young American Jews to start their adult lives under a mountain of debt. And it isn’t at all clear how they will be able to pay off this debt since under Obama half of recent college graduates cannot find jobs
Obama’s gutting of Medicare to pay for Obamacare has harmed the medical choices for older Jewish Americans. His war on tax deductions for charitable contributions has placed synagogues, Jewish schools and nursing homes in financial jeopardy.
So with economics ruled out as a reason to support Obama we are left with American-Jewish values. But is Obama really advancing those values?
What are those values anyway? Well, there’s civil liberties. American Jews like those. But Obama doesn’t. Take freedom of speech. Obama is the most hostile president to freedom of speech in recent memory. He has advocated implementing the so-called “fairness doctrine” for radio to stifle the free speech of his political opponents on talk radio.
He has sought to undermine the freedom of the Internet through federal regulations and intimidation of Internet companies such as Google. He has made repeated and outspoken attempts to intimidate individuals, groups and businesses including Google to bar freedom of speech as relates to criticism of Islam. He has purged the lexicon of the federal government of all terms necessary to describe jihad, Islamic radicalism and terrorism, and so made it impossible for federal employees to examine, investigate, discuss or understand the nature of the greatest national security threat facing the US.

Obama could set-up Israel to be forced to take actions which would, as in during Operation Cast Lead, incite public animus against her- which manifests internationally in anti-Semitism sentiment and violence against Jews. It's only a matter of how he regards the Jewish state and the Jews.

Dennis Prager says any illusions that US ally Israel will receive good treatment from a re-elected Barack H. Obama were dispelled when, on Netanyahu's recent visit to the U.S., Obama rejected his request for the men to meet to discuss matters of mutual importance.

Radio-host Dennis Prager told JooTube recently that Obama's mistreatment of Netanyahu reveals his disrespect for Israel and pro-Israel voters- and would forebode ill for Israel and Jews if Obama gets re-elected to a second, 4-year term.

Jewish support for Mitt Romney growing. Informed couple explain why prefer Romney to manage the next 4-years

Jewish support for Obama has been slipping recently. A tracking poll published Thursday by TIPP for Investors' Business Daily shows the hard-to-believe statistic of 44% support for Mitt Romney among likely Jewish voters, versus 40% for Obama, with 16% undecided.

In September, the TIPP poll gave him 59% versus 35% for Romney. That in itself was seen as quite an accomplishment for Romney. It was not far from the 40 percent number in support of Dwight Eisenhower recorded by Jews in 1956, which was the highest backing by Jews for a Republican in nearly a century.

What inspires educated Jews to prefer to replace Barack H. Obama with for Mitt Romney this election?  Los Angeles couple, Samuel and Ardyth Freshman, share their thinking about Obama vs Romney in this candid interview:

Jews complete season of atonement with Hoshana Rabbah, ending Sukkot (Tabernacles) holy days

Hoshana Rabbah is known as the last of the Days of Judgment which began on Rosh Hashana. The Zohar says that while the judgment for the new year is sealed on Yom Kippur, it is not "delivered" until the end of Sukkot (i.e., Hoshana Rabbah, the last day of Sukkot), during which time one can still alter their verdict and decree for the new year. Consequently, the blessing which Jews give each other on Hoshana Rabbah, פתקא טבא (piska tova or pitka tova), which in Yiddish is "A guten kvitel", or "A good note", is a wish that the verdict will be positive.

The Happy Minyan celebrated Hoshaa Rabbah with its conventional cantor, Yehuda Solomon, accompanied by his Moshav Band guitar-partner, Dovid Swirsky, for the first time in many years.

In this spirit, the cantor wears a kittel as on the High Holidays. Since Hoshana Rabbah blends elements of the High Holy Days, Chol HaMoed, and Yom Tov, in this spirit the cantor, in the Ashkenazic tradition, recites the service using High Holiday, Festival, Weekday, and Sabbath melodies interchangeably.

Thousands of Israelis pray Selichot at Judaism's holiest site, the Wailing Wall in East Jerusalem

Thousands of people gathered on Monday night to pray at the holiest site in Jerusalem- in front of the Wailing (Western) Wall (remnant of the Second Temple) in the Old City of East Jerusalem.

With Rabbis leading prayers of penitence, called Slichot, thousands gathered before Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, which started on Tuesday 26 September.

Obama taboos "blaspheming" review of Islamist anti-Judaism (and the tax-exempt status of religious groups condemning its facilitators)

Both historic and contemporary Islam and Christianity slander Judaism and Jews. Arab countries produce blood-libelous broadcast dramas vilifying Jews. In his "The Passion of the Christ," Mel Gibson contrived and disseminated a vile, Jew-condemning depiction of Jesus' plight.  Though it was an extremist interpretation, far outside the mainstream of Christian scholarship, Jews did not riot from offense.

Since the al-Qaeda 9/11 attack in Benghazi, Libya (which Islamists scapegoated the Coptic video, "Innocence of Muslims" about) laws to control "blasphemy" are being suddenly considered. "Jihad" includes social violence to intimidate individuals into subjugating themselves to Islamic political control- which includes prohibition on criticizing Islam or Muslim actions consistent with Islam and sharia law. Part of this dogma involves recapturing lands once dominated by Muslims- especially lands deemed to be holy to Islam, such as Jerusalem. Arabic-studies scholar, Prof. Mordechai Kedar, explains how, for political purposes, Jerusalem was deemed holy for Moslems in this original video filmed in Jerusalem.

On Erev Yom Kippur, hours before most sacred day in the Jewish calendar (when the U.N. has slated Iran's Ahmadinejad to speak), Pres. Obama used his podium address at the United Nations to declare: "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam."  Would this "slander" apply to condemning Islamic dogma (scriptural or interpretive) inspiring Muslim political imperialism against the West?  Or against Israel?

To what extent should rabbis and cantors address these threats to Jews and to Israel?  And to what extent ought they be raised in sermons or presentations within the synagogue?  Should the clergy be advocating an Israeli political policy of Israel ceding Jewish land & communities in Judea & Samaria to create an Islamist State of Palestine?

Israeli-American Cantor Yaakov Motzen of New Jersey and South Florida discussed this with me on a visit to L.A. this spring.

Americans United for Separation of Church and State has sent a letter to churches and synagogues warning that the I.R.S. does enforce the "no politicking" rule by revoking its tax-exempt status. Will the Obama administration's I.R.S. hassle synagogues for discussions of "blasphemous" Islamic anti-Zionism?  How about for discussing a presidential candidate's record (or future) regarding Israel or the Jewish condition?

The A.U.S.C.S.'s website states that Tax law prohibits 501(c)3 groups from supporting or opposing candidates. Houses of worship may:
  • Discuss public policy issues
  • Sponsor non-partisan voter registration and encourage voting as good civic behavior,
  • Sponsor candidate forums, as long as all leading candidates are invited and a broad range of issues is discussed.
  • Urge congregants to communicate with candidates and make their concerns known to them.

    Houses of worship may not:
  • Issue statements endorsing or opposing candidates.
  • Donate money to a candidate.
  • Offer sanctuary space to one candidate and refuse it to another.
  • Sponsor rallies for candidates in church.

Mitt Romney telling the key truth needed to comprehend the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Watch the video- judge for yourself

Gov. Mitt Romney: "And I look at the Palestinians not wanting to see peace anyway, for political purposes, committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel, and these thorny issues, and I say there's just no way. And so what you do is you say you move things along the best way you can. You hope for some degree of stability, but you recognize that it's going to remain an unsolved problem. I mean, we look at that in China and Taiwan. All right, we have a potentially volatile situation, but we sort of live with it. And we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately, somehow, something will happen and resolve. We don't go to war to try and resolve it."

Mitt Romney Tells the Key Truth Needed to Comprehend the Israel-Palestinian Conflict

So much has the debate been shifted “that what thirty years ago was a common-sense given is now considered a landmark breakthrough,”  — Victor Davis Hanson.
You see, here’s what you have to do. You’ve got to take the most basic logical statements — the ones absolutely necessary to understand reality — and rule them out of bounds. For example, there’s nothing wrong with the economy. To say so is, well, racist. And there’s nothing wrong with a government policy that refuses to control the country’s borders. To say so is, well, racist. In fact, you can’t criticize this U.S. government at all because to do so is, well, racist.
And you can’t point out that America’s problem in the Middle East is not due to an obscure video on YouTube but to a massive revolutionary Islamist movement determined to destroy American influence in the region, take over every country there, smash the Christians, subordinate the women, impose a dictatorship, and commit genocide against Israel. Yep, you got it! Racist again!

Sommelier reveals which libations are good (and kosher) for your holidays

For one, literally, Rosh Hashana doesn’t mean "new year" but rather "head of the year," which we’ll explain a little later. And secondly, Rosh Hashanah is not something of parochial significance just to Jews so that it should be classified as exclusively "Jewish." Actually, the day is relevant to every human being, and indeed, every created being in the entire universe, for Rosh Hashanah is the day that commemorates G-d’s creation of the world. So if you’re looking for conceptual translation of the name, Rosh Hashanah should really be called the Anniversary of Creation. Indeed, the new calendar year that Rosh Hashanah ushers in is the number of years from the creation, the number value of the current Jewish year being the age of the universe. Rabbi Yaakov Salomon of Aish reminds us of the special importance of prayer, atonement, and renewal to make your Hebrew New Year, Rosh Hashana, meaningful. (from Ask Moses- What is the deeper meaning of Rosh Hashana?)

Rosh Hashana is an historic day - Adam and Eve were created. Abraham and Jacob were brought into this world Joseph was released from 12-years of incarceration. Sarah, who had been barren, had her prayers answered - it was decreed that she would have children. Hannah, was given a child who would become the prophet Samuel. Rachel, who gave birth to Joseph, was remembered on Rosh Hashana.

“This is delicious!” exclaims a friend, tasting a wine and requesting a second glass. “Are you sure it’s Kosher?” If you are celebrating Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, this year, you are in for a delicious treat.

BlogCritics publishes Marisa D'Vari's article on kosher wines she recommends:
For much of our families' lifetimes, most families sipped the sweet, grape-y Manishevitz. Today you will find some excellent, affordable, and delicious Kosher wines being produced in regions around the world that quite often outshine non-Kosher wines at a similar price point. If you are hosting a large party, you might take the opportunity to stock up on several different Kosher wines so you can serve a few as an aperitif, and then pair them with different courses. At the end of the evening, you might also ask your guests which wines they liked the best, and make note of your favorites for your next trip to the wine shop. Most of these wines are so delicious you will want to serve them all year round.
Recently President of the Society of Wine Educators, Certified Wine Educator, Ira Norof  spoke with JooTube.TV regarding  quality kosher wines and spirits being sampled at the L.A. Times epicurean fair "The Taste" over Labor Day Weekend.

Mr. Norof explains how the Herzog company has made kosher versions of local wine varieties from different countries which rival their non-kosher competitors'.  Herzog now produces Scotches which are kosher, and also was demonstrating their tequilas, which are not.

Obama's anti-democracy 'chickens' roost on 9/11- catalyzing criminalization of 'slander of Islam' and its political imperialism

Washington fails to confront Islamism - since it claims to be only opposing the Jewish State repressing a "Palestinian State" which wouldn't challenge Jewish sovereignty over Israel.

Obama helped replace Mubarak with Islamist Mohamed Morsi (pictured)

Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood rose to power with the support of the Obama administration's assistance in deposing Israeli-peace partner Pres. Hosni Mubarak. On the occasion of 9/11/11, Morsi-supported, Islamist protesters attacked both the US embassy in Cairo, and a US consulate in Benghazi, Libya- killing the staff of 4 (and reportedly raping US Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens).  Pres. Barack Obama will make time to meet with Egypt's Morsi (who, despite the US having given Egypt $70 billion, is now removing Egypt's ally-ship with the US) during his visit to the U.S. next week.  Pres. Obama will not, however, make an opportunity to meet with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to the U.S. to address the United Nations, despite his delaying military action against Iran's nuclear weapons production at Obama's behest to give inadequate sanctions further time.  Iran continues to enrich uranium and move their equipment to underground facilities, impervious to Israeli or U.S. bombing. Netanyahu is America's best ally in the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia as the remaining one.

Islamists attacked the US by sodomizing and lynching Amb. Chris Stevens who freed their reins from government. Stevens sought a similar ambassadorial post in Islamist Iran

The assault had initially been thought to have been a spontaneous reaction to protests over an anti-Islamic film, but there is now speculation it was a long-planned ambush on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack, or a revenge attack for death of an al Qaeda official in June in Yemen
It has been suggested that the attack was in retaliation for the death of an al Qaeda official, which was confirmed this week and that should have meant security would have been high at the U.S embassy in the troubled region. reaction to protests over an anti-Islamic film, but there is now speculation it was a long-planned ambush on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack, or a revenge attack for death of an al Qaeda official in June in Yemen.
State Department officials said the two incidents at the diplomatic missions were not related and said they believe the Benghazi violence was a 'clearly planned attack.'
Officials have voiced their concern that the attack was timed for the 11th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, which were commemorated across the U.S. on Tuesday.
'We've been talking for years about the desire of al Qaeda, radical jihadists to celebrate the anniversary of 9/11,' Pete Hoekstra, former chairman of the House intelligence committee, told FoxNews.com. 'All my background, all of the conversations that I've had over the last 18 hours, lead many people to believe that this was just more than a mere coincidence.'
He added that Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahri recently released a video calling on militants to attack Americans for revenge for the death of Abu Yahya al-Libi in Pakistan - and that the anti-Mohammed film could have been a cover.
A London think tank run by a former Libyan militant leader also suggested on Tuesday that not only was the Benghazi attack 'well planned', but that it may have been retaliation. The Quilliam Foundation said that 24 hours before the Benghazi incident, al Qaeda leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, distributed a video to militant websites in which he confirmed the death of his second in command, Abu Yahya al-Libi, and urged Libyans to avenge his killing.
The Blaze reports:  Experts claim real reason for embassy attacks is much more sinister

Major Stephen Coughlin
Cited as the Pentagon’s leading expert on Islamic law, Stephen Coughlin also caught up with TheBlaze to talk about the “ten-year plan” that was drafted by Islamists in 2005 intended to make Islamic slander a crime — not just in Islamic countries, but across the globe.

“And now they are putting that into action,” he said pointedly.

Coughlin explained that there was never an “Arab Spring,” but rather, a “Salafist-Muslim Brotherhood takeover” in the Middle East and that accepting that fact is key to understanding Islamists’ strategy.

He asked for people think back to the disproportionate outrage that ensued in the Muslim community over the Pope’s 2009 comments about Islamic tyranny, and to the fist Quran burning in Florida led by pastor Terry Jones.

Both incidents, according to the attorney and scholar, were actually first reported on in the Muslim world not Western media. The goal, he claimed, was to “manufacture an event” with which to incite violence and ultimately “subordinate the U.S. First Amendment.“ It was engineered ”to get President Bush, Obama, whoever…to say ‘sorry.’” Thus the goal is to compel the West to blame the West for bringing violence upon itself.
